INTERVIEW: LUIS ALEMAN
|
Most people know me as Legendary Luis. How I got it: we play "The Name Game" at Kellogg to learn names much faster thru an adjective with the same initial letter... In the five seconds I had to find one, the first adjective that came to mind was legendary.
I was born in Ecuador, where I lived until I was 18. Since 1995 I've lived in the USA, but have bounced around from Indiana to Texas to Illinois to Minnesota. Home is still Ecuador to me.
A little English, Spanish, and with some practice Portuguese.
I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Purdue '99) MBA (Kellogg '06) Master of Engineering Management (Northwestern '06)
I have been with Cargill for two years. Before Cargill, five years with Dell in Austin TX (three years in manufacturing engineering, two years in supply chain management).
For my field assignment, I was merchant of second clear wheat flour in Horizon Milling (Minneapolis).
Soccer, windsurfing, and mountain biking have been my hobbies for the last several years. And when stress from work gets to me, I play the piano. Now I'm picking up camping and fishing (my childhood hobbies) in great Minnesota. I'm starting to enjoy gardening too (must have picked it up from my mom).
Retired executive teaching at a university.
... got a black belt in six sigma.
