Laura Witte. Corporate Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary."I began my Cargill career as a generalist lawyer in 1985, and since then, have had the privilege to work with a wide variety of Cargill businesses and business leaders around the world.

Three things attracted me to Cargill and it's these three things that continue to feed my passion for the work I do: Cargill's strong culture of ethics, the breadth and complexity of legal issues we face and the ability to impact business strategy in a very real and practical way.

While serving as Vice President, Asia-Pacific Regional General Counsel, from 2001 to 2003, and then as European Deputy General Counsel in Belgium, from 2005 to 2007, I developed a broad global perspective and gained a deep personal appreciation for the diversity of our people, our cultures and our legal systems. Cargill employees share a special bond and it's a wonderful feeling: wherever you go in the world you are treated like family.

In between these global assignments, I acted as a global mergers and acquisitions specialist and played a lead role in various U.S. transactions, including the divestitures of Cargill's steel businesses. I had the pleasure of serving as North America General Counsel for four years before being named General Counsel in 2011."
