Three things attracted me to Cargill and it's these three things that continue to feed my passion for the work I do: Cargill's strong culture of ethics, the breadth and complexity of legal issues we face and the ability to impact business strategy in a very real and practical way. While serving as Vice President, Asia-Pacific Regional General Counsel, from 2001 to 2003, and then as European Deputy General Counsel in Belgium, from 2005 to 2007, I developed a broad global perspective and gained a deep personal appreciation for the diversity of our people, our cultures and our legal systems. Cargill employees share a special bond and it's a wonderful feeling: wherever you go in the world you are treated like family. In between these global assignments, I acted as a global mergers and acquisitions specialist and played a lead role in various U.S. transactions, including the divestitures of Cargill's steel businesses. I had the pleasure of serving as North America General Counsel for four years before being named General Counsel in 2011."
