As a Cargill technical professional you could serve in one or more of the following capacities during your career with us.

Areas
Technical Services On the frontline with customers — assists with problem solving, delivering information on Cargill products, introducing new products, providing technical assistance to help customers develop products. Serves as the “technical voice of the customer” inside Cargill.
Applications Conducts laboratory or pilot work on customer finished products or ingredients. Works both to meet customer needs and to support development of new Cargill products.
Development Designs, tests and pilots new or improved products and/or processes. In Cargill, development begins once a commercial or business case has been made for a new product or process, and a technology target has been established.
Research Pursues knowledge that will enable new products, processes or technologies.  At Cargill, research is done to explore and clarify a target idea for potential commercial development.
Intellectual Asset Management Develops intellectual asset management (IAM) strategies; understands the IAM landscape and how the landscape may influence business plans and direction. Helps to implement IAM strategies and plans.
Regulatory Assists, supports, directs or leads the development and implementation of regulatory best practices. Conducts literature reviews, develops scientific strategies, manages data development and collection.
Path

Technical Your focus is the execution of technical projects. You provide necessary technical expertise to achieve project goals and offer guidance in identifying appropriate approaches to problem resolution. You are responsible for maintaining and enhancing your level of technical proficiency to meet targeted responsibilities and expertise levels.
Management On this career path you are responsible for accomplishing work through others. You will supervise, plan, direct, motivate, coach and develop technical staff members as they execute projects. Employees who manage at a higher level are involved in developing and implementing strategic technical plans that align, drive and support our business objectives.
Project/Process Management You will manage projects or processes. In project management you will be involved with planning, staffing, costing, managing, executing and reporting on projects. If you choose process management, you’re responsible for understanding the intent of the process in addition to designing, deploying, measuring and improving it.
