MariaI have been with Cargill Kitchen Solutions since 1999. I started as a QC Technician while finishing up my last semester of college. During my time here, I have had the opportunity to take on six different positions, spanning across quality control/assurance, food safety, microbiology and plant operations. This has given me a significant opportunity to develop a broader business perspective, yet also grow both personally and professionally. |

MikeI first interviewed with Cargill Kitchen Solutions in Monticello, Minnesota with the thought that it was a free trip to Minneapolis to see some friends! After the plant tour and interviews, it was very evident to me that the culture here was different. I decided to take the job and since then I have had a number of opportunities. When my training was complete, I was given my first assignment as a supervisor. After two years, I was asked to be a supervisor on a commercial line startup for a key customer at our Mason City, Iowa plant. These experiences allowed me to make another move two years later as a plant superintendent at our Monticello, Minnesota plant. I look back to the free trip to Minneapolis as just the starting point of a career in which I have been given many opportunities to develop myself, personally and professionally. |

At the same time, there is a team approach to solving problems, which is a key to our success. BrianMy first exposure to Cargill was as a boy, growing up on a farm. My father always said that Cargill was a great company. Fifteen years passed before I had the opportunity to see how right he was. I joined Cargill as a QA/QC supervisor working on 2nd shift, and was immediately empowered to make decisions and take action to contribute to the success of the company. I have had a number of different responsibilities over my 13 years within Cargill – from the QA/QC department to the Engineering department as a project manager, and then into sales as a product line manager and product development manager. In each role, I have always been shown the connection as to how I add value, which is rewarding both professionally and personally. The people and the culture of Cargill continue to show me what an unbelievable company I work for. It gives me great pride when I tell others that I am part of Cargill. |

TerryAfter working for an egg company that was acquired by Cargill when I was a young plant manager at 26 years of age, and now at 54, a VP of Manufacturing, “a lot of water has passed under the bridge.” So, what can I say about the journey? Some key phrases and factors come quickly to mind:
At this stage of my career, the memories I have of the journey are priceless to me. Furthermore, my ability to draw on these experiences and use them to help younger leaders to develop means more to me than any other form of recognition I have received. |
