Career history: Mario joined Cargill Sao Paulo in 2001 as an assistant merchant at the soybeans desk. In 2003 he was assigned to the World Trading Unit in Geneva as junior trader, responsible for coordinating the FOB origination export book and pipeline for soybeans, and trade all range of trading vehicles such as futures, premiums, and freight. In 2005 Mario joined the Sugar business in Geneva as a futures coordinator. Beginning in 2007, Mario was ready to move forward to a senior role and was assigned back to Sao Paulo overlooking all futures trading positions for sugar and ethanol. Mario holds an agriculture engineering degree from the University of Sao Paulo where he also specialized in agro-industrial economics. He is fluent in Portuguese (mother tongue), English, Spanish, French and Italian.
For hobbies, Mario enjoys traveling and learning languages but when he stays home, he enjoys playing polo on the weekends.
