What's the meaning behind your name?
My Chinese Name is Lei, Ying, but I prefer to be called Linda L. "Linda" was given by my late father as a way to remember his English teacher. I was told many years later that "Linda" in Spanish also means "beautiful/pretty", obviously when my father gave me this English name, he wasn't aware of the special meaning in Spanish.
Where are you originally from?
I was born and grew up in the Guangdong Province of China where people speak Cantonese, a dialect that is very popular in Southeast Asia and other parts of the world. I have also lived in Beijing for 11 years; Shanghai for two years; Ann Arbor, Michigan for two years; and now in Minneapolis.
What languages can you speak?
Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
What is your educational background?
University of International Business & Economics, Beijing, China. Michigan Business School, MBA
What do you like to do for fun?
I like to watch the CSI series and also movies.
What do you see yourself doing/being at age 65?
A professor (if I can obtain my Ph.D) teaching strategy/general management in a university in China.
