Cargill has been active in Spain since 1960 and has approximately 1,200 employees in 18 locations in Barcelona, Sevilla (two locations), Zaragoza, Villaverde, Reus, Silla, Dos Hermanas (two locations), Torre Pacheco, Villandangos, Felanitx (Mallorca), Pinto, Benavente, Merida, Martorell, Santo Domingo Calzada and Rubi.Cargill has activities in the following areas in Spain:

2007 – Cargill and the Spanish co-operative Hojiblanca formed a 50:50 joint venture to source, trade and supply customers worldwide with private label and bulk olive oil.
2006 – Cargill acquired Degussa's food ingredients business, including its site in Rubi. Increased Reus refinery to 135m-mt capacities
2003 – Cargill merged the Agribrands companies into Cargill Espana and Cargill Portugal.
2003 – Cargill launched "Nutrena" pet food brand.
2002 – Cargill acquired the remaining 50 percent of the shares in aOP's bottled oils business from Vandemoortele.
2002 – Cargill acquired Cerestar - a leading provider of starch and starch derivatives - the largest acquisition in Cargill's history. This acquisition included Cerestar's sweeteners plant in Martorell.
2002 – Cargill purchased the Begonte feedmill from Con Agra.
2001 – Cargill acquired the Agribrands business in Spain.
