Fort Morgan, CO
The City of Fort Morgan was named for a military fort established along the Overland Train in 1865. The fort was named after Colonel Christopher A. Morgan and served to protect transit going to and from Denver and the mining districts.
Today, Fort Morgan is the most populous city in Morgan County with 11,000 residents. Fort Morgan residents enjoy numerous parks and open spaces, a library/museum complex, a community swimming pool, and a golf course. Cities close to Fort Morgan are Denver (capital of Colorado), Greeley, and Fort Collins, which means an easy drive to four major sport franchises, entertainment arts and museums, shopping, five colleges and universities, two junior colleges, and state-of-the-art medical facilities.
