Located in Central California, Cargill Beef’s Fresno facility resides in the fifth-largest city in the state and is located in the #1 agricultural county in the nation. With its vast amount of cultural, recreational and entertainment amenities, it’s no wonder why Fresno is considered as California’s “Year-Round Playground.”
Cargill and Fresno
There are currently three (3) Cargill facilities that are recruited for at the Fresno facility. Those facilities include the Beef processing facility in Fresno, the Grind facility in Fresno and the Pet Treats facility in Sanger.
Acquired from Beef Packers Inc. in 2006, Cargill Beef employs almost 1,000 employees, processing an average of 1,600 head of cattle per day and producing 1 million pounds of trim and boxed beef and 400,000 pounds of chubs and case ready products daily. Cargill Beef is composed of various operations including harvesting, fabrication, grinding and packaging with production shifts varying by department. Cargill Grind produces hamburger patties solely for McDonald’s and services McDonald’s locations throughout the west coast. Our Pet Treats facility in Sanger is a recent acquisition and as the name indicates, produces treats for household pets.
Employees donate time and services to a variety of organizations such as: Cargill Cares, Cargill Neighborhood Serve Day, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, United Way, Coats-for-Kids coat drive, Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House of Charity, Hispanic Business Student Association, Girl Scouts, Ruiz 4 Kids and other various school programs and sponsorships.
