My role

The most important part of my role is to create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for both our employees and the community in which we operate. My goal is to prevent all workplace accidents and return everyone safely back to their families. To establish a safe work environment, I provide important information about workplace safety and health issues to employees through a wide range of communication channels such as orientation, Recognition Day, Safety Day, staff meetings, departmental meetings, bulletin board postings, memos and more.

Another major responsibility is to make sure that we produce competitive products, thereby helping our customers succeed. This involves forecasting requirements for production targets, using available resources efficiently, and taking actions to reduce costs.

My path

I joined Cargill in 1992 and worked as a manager in Total Quality Management. I have been involved in operations such as toll milling and the start-up of new plants. Those experiences instilled in me a customer-focused mindset and the importance of product quality. I transferred to the position of EHS manager in 2015 and am now working at the Pyeongtaek plant, which is the largest Cargill feed milling plant in the world.

My advice

If you are looking for a new opportunity in Cargill, the most important thing is to examine what kind of job it is you want. You need to tell people around you that you are interested in that area, and demonstrate how much effort you are willing to make to achieve your goal.

Why we’re Better Together

I first learned about Cargill when I was a university student. My professor told me that Cargill has a very good work environment, one where people are treated with respect and given opportunities for learning and development. Moreover, Cargill is one of the largest companies in the animal nutrition business. Twenty years have passed since I joined Cargill, and I still want to stay on this team. I believe that employees can grow together alongside Cargill over the years.

About me

I like fishing. No: I LOVE fishing! Fishing is a great way to spend time with friends and family in the peace of nature. It allows me to escape from a hectic daily life and enjoy a restful moment. While any type of fishing requires immense patience, even kids can enjoy bringing in a catch. However, the reason I like fishing is that it provides an opportunity for deep conversation with coworkers and friends. Sometimes I go fishing with my colleagues and we have long conversations with each other, giving me an opportunity to better understand my team.
