“Be part of the global food and feed flow, from end to end.”

Through understanding of the local market, I analyze different variables to generate information that contributes to taking positions in the larger market.

Describe your work responsibilities and the importance of your role.

I am the link between our trading and origination teams. The importance of my role lies in the fact that we are Cargill's eyes and ears inside key links along the supply chain.

Describe your day-to-day activities and the skills needed to perform well.

I interact every day with market data and with farmers and brokers. It is key to have a holistic view of the business in order to know the impact of decisions on each of the links in the supply chain.

Describe your career path. Where did you start and how did you get to where you are today?

I started my career in our former flour milling business selling wheat flour to neighboring countries and Africa. There was a job opening in origination in the city of Rosario, where I discovered the business of grains and oils.

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

One aspect of my job that really attracts me is the interaction with multi-disciplinary teams (commercial, operational and administrative), which involves interacting with different types of people.

Why did you choose to join Cargill and what keeps you here? In other words, how has a career at Cargill helped you to thrive?

My career goal was and still is to improve my skills and knowledge in the field of agricultural commodities. I found at Cargill the chance to pursue this goal by working with some of the leading companies and individuals in this segment.

What advice would you give someone interested in a career at Cargill like yours?

My suggestion is to be focused toward a specific goal, work closely as a team, respect different views and learn from others.

Share an interesting tidbit about yourself such as hobbies, volunteerism, favorite foods or activities, accomplishments inside or outside of work.

I consider it essential to maintain a balance between work, family and social life. In that sense, I really enjoy my free time with my family. In sports, my favorite activity is soccer, a sport in which I compete with a group of friends I’ve known since I was at university. More than just a soccer team, we are a team of friends. My other hobby is cycling. Bike rides tire my body but relax my mind.
