“I am really motivated by the new challenges we have every day.”

Merchants are always looking for customer solutions. We can design either new risk management tools to cover the price risk of customers in the market or create new ways for our merchants to communicate, for instance. In my own case, I have designed a simulation to help farmers better understand our portfolio tools. This has been a very positive experience for both farmers and merchants, which helps to cultivate farmers’ loyalty.

Describe your work responsibilities and the importance of your role.

My main task is to contribute to develop our risk management solutions at our country elevators. To achieve this, it is very important to design commercial strategies and training for farmers and our merchants.

Describe your day-to-day activities and the skills needed to perform well.

My daily tasks are focused on the market and generating new business, as well as making our products more widely known. The most important skills are to be a good communicator and teacher.

Describe your career path. Where did you start and how did you get to where you are today?

I have worked for Cargill in different merchant positions. I started my career at the country elevators as a merchant dealing with farmers from the very beginning. My tasks were to buy grains and sell our services. Two years later, I applied for a new position as a risk management merchant assistant for our country elevators desk, and I am now in charge of this for all of Argentina.

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

I enjoy my job. I am really motivated by the new challenges we face every day. I like to talk and discuss different points of view with my co-workers and exchange interesting information.

Why did you choose to join Cargill and what keeps you here? In other words, how has a career at Cargill helped you to thrive?

What I share with Cargill are principles and values. I think Cargill is an organization that allows its employees not only to develop and grow professionally, but to mature personally as well.

What advice would you give someone interested in a career at Cargill like yours?

You need to be fully convinced of what you want to achieve in your professional life and begin to train for it. For me, “luck” is when good training and opportunities meet.

Share an interesting tidbit about yoursel f such as hobbies, volunteerism, favorite foods or activities, accomplishments inside or outside of work.

I love swimming, spending free time outdoors and being in contact with nature. I enjoy natural food and activities like yoga and meditation, because they help me with my internal equilibrium.
