"I joined Cargill because I have always wanted to be part of an organization that contributes towards solving global issues such as food security, food safety, price volatility, supply chain viability and sustainability.”

My role

I work on projects that help solve some of the most critical issues facing Cargill, with the results usually having very high visibility and impact. Day to day activities range from developing recommendations to help a business unit grow, interacting with customers, interviewing business experts, meeting senior leaders at Cargill, building valuation models for an acquisition, negotiating with potential JV partners, and performing site visits to better understand the supply chain. I also contribute towards building and developing the talent pipeline for Cargill through recruiting associates for Corporate Strategy and Development (CSD) and internal training for the incoming class.

My path

After pursuing an engineering degree, I started my career as a consultant in Mumbai. I then joined a commodities trading and food processing business in the Middle East and worked in roles ranging from business analytics and treasury to pricing & cost control for B2B and retail products. I then decided to get an MBA from Darden to stretch myself for a career in general management. I joined Cargill in 2012 and worked on my Field Assignment with Energy, Transportation and Metals in Houston to help execute their inorganic growth strategy. A year later, I relocated to Minnesota, where I joined CSD. I have since worked on strategy and corporate development projects in various platforms and have travelled to Cargill locations in over 20 cities around the world.

About me

Having grown up in the cosmopolitan city of Dubai, I have always valued diversity of people's backgrounds, experiences, and culture. One of my greatest passions outside of work is travelling and learning about the unique history, culture, and cuisine around the globe. I am also interested in social entrepreneurship projects that can have tremendous impact on communities in emerging markets. I believe that my experiences and view of the world provide a unique lens to problem solving at CSD and Cargill.

Why I chose Cargill

I joined Cargill because I have always wanted to be part of an organization that contributes towards solving global issues such as food security, food safety, price volatility, supply chain viability and sustainability. Cargill maintains the highest level of integrity and ethics while creating economic value and meeting the needs of its customers. CSD is a unique program that provides me with exposure across Cargill businesses, experience in strategy and corporate development practice and lends me with the flexibility of charting my own career path.
