“Cargill is a company where you can develop at a fast rate and are pushed to succeed. If you are looking for a role where every day is different, with opportunities to be seized and great career progress, then I would highly recommend Cargill.”

I joined Cargill in the summer of 2011 after graduating from the University of Manchester with a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering. I started at the Brocklebank site in Liverpool - a rapeseed processing plant - as a Technical Management Trainee( TMT), and was instantly given the responsibility of solving a problem with a blockage in one of the storage silos. I was responsible for identifying a company to undertake the work, as well as managing them on a day to day basis until the work was complete. This was a great opportunity to take early responsibility in my career with Cargill.

During my two years on the TMT programme I have attended training sessions and meetings across Europe, including Barcelona, Geneva, Amsterdam and Belgium. This has helped me to gain a greater knowledge of the industry and the process that I am involved in, as well as creating a large network of colleagues from throughout Europe.

The two year TMT course is a great opportunity to develop quickly and gain lots of engineering and management experience. I have just been appointed as Process Improvement Engineer at the Brocklebank plant. This role involves me working on projects to help improve the process in areas such as safety, energy, yields and throughput.
