Position Purpose & Summary The purpose of this position is to provide Process Improvement activities at the Amsterdam Multiseed facility. This position conducts activities related to technical & technology leadership, continuous improvement and project management skills in a plant support role. The Process Improvement Engineer is accountable to identify and deliver projects that ensure safe, efficient and low cost plant operations. The Process Improvement Engineer uses comprehensive knowledge to develop and manage process improvement project plans and assures project goals and objectives are attained and sustained. The engineer will identify and develop Leading Practices together with Continuous Improvement / Production Excellence teams and local team but also develop and implement projects aimed at productivity improvements. The actions of the engineer are driven by making a noticeable impact in these areas in the mid/long term.

Principal Accountabilities

_40% Project Execution, Value Realization & Measurement:_

+ Uses comprehensive knowledge to develop and manage CI project plans and assures project goals and objectives are attained and sustained.Utilizes the appropriate lean and/or six sigma tools (Kaizen, Statistically Supported Decision Making (SSDM), 5S, Six Sigma, Value stream Mapping).

+ Identifies and documents variances from project goals and objectives, and communicates status reports, issue logs and risk areas to plant superintendent.

+ Tracks and reports the value creation and develops sustainment plans to ensure sustainable results.

+ Facilitates and coaches local teams to deliver improvement in process capability, productivity, safety and quality through implementation of CI philosophy, theory and application tools / tactics.

+ Uses expertise, experience and network to drive process improvement initiatives for the plant.

+ Maintains CI value trackers or project scorecards and dashboards to ensure that identified improvements across the site are successfully implemented and that the promised benefits and value are being captured; provide results to management and leadership. _25% Leadership & Control:_

+ Champions the Cargill Manufacturing Excellence System (CMES)

+ Leads the overall Continuous Improvement plan for the Multiseed site.

+ Leads groups through the continuous improvement process. Example projects include: waste reduction, productivity improvement, optimize resource utilization

+ Uses comprehensive knowledge to identify areas for stabilizing or enhancing the performance of assets or processes that improve business results.

+ Analyzes, develops and implements sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. Continuously analyzes and measures the effectiveness of improvements, and recommends additional improvements to applications, processes and procedures.

+ Leads teams to identify causes and solutions, and ensures decision rights (e.g. RASCI framework structures) are followed

+ Uses thorough knowledge of the Infinity Loop, champions IDEX/IWEX and prepares and (co-)facilitates CI workshops.

+ Fulfills the role of Energy Coordinator at the site (identify energy saving opportunities, energy consumption reporting to relevant authorities). _20% Capability and Culture Development:_

+ Participates in the CI Community. Identifies, monitors, and implements continuous improvement best practices.

+ Drive continuous improvement capability and culture change across the site through leading practice sharing, vocal advocacy, and visible leadership, which includes identifying and implementing opportunities.

+ Advise and coach site teams on CI, providing services and support for teams to be systematic in their approach to develop and improve processes for sustainable, long-term success.

+ Researches leading practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.

+ Conducts value realization analysis, value tracking process, progress reports and dashboards to ensure project targets (financial, productivity, etc.) are achieved for projects _15% Business Partnership and Stakeholder Management:_

+ Uses comprehensive experience and knowledge to remove barriers to ensure completion of project milestones and influences stakeholders to take action across the plant.

+ Establishes and maintains relationships with Continuous Improvement / Production excellence teams as well as other teams across the Group and Functions.

+ Challenges the status quo to explore new ways to analyze, measure, execute and ultimately bring increased value to the assets and process.

Qualifications



Minimum Required Qualifications:



+ BSc degree in chemical, mechanical or food engineering or electrical and automation engineering

+ 2-3 years working experience in a food production environment or a process manufacturing environment

+ Mastering English language

+ Communication: good listener, able to present complicated matter in a clear way both written and verbally, engaging in discussions, basic negotiation skills.

+ Analytical

+ Independent self-starter, working without close supervision

+ Clear communicator (internal Cargill and towards 3rd parties), both oral and in writing.

+ Team player, respectful, reach out for assistance and offer assistance; influencing skills

+ Ability to travel (10%)

+ Ability to drive change and results

+ Experience with Process Control, troubleshooting and Plant ERP

+ Strong knowlegde of data historian

+ Six Sigma green belt

Preferred Qualifications:



+ Master degree in chemical, mechanical or food engineering or electrical and automation engineering

+ 2-3 years experience in a crush/extraction/biodiesel or edible oil refinery

+ Basic financial knowledge (base, non-base)

+ Mastering Dutch & English language

+ PBI-Tableau knowledge
