Senior Process Control Engineer

Description: As the Senior Process Control Engineer you are a highly skilled engineer who is enthusiastic about applying process control, continuous improvement and data analytics expertise to improving the efficiency of industrial-scale agri-food processes. You need a fundamental knowledge of control systems and plant instrumentation, coupled with knowledge of process engineering and plant operations, which is applied to the optimization of production processes. You should have a proven track record of accomplishments in an industrial setting and an ability to work in a collaborative environment to optimize plant assets. You are also expected to provide thought leadership towards advancing Cargill’s process control capability and apply project management skills for deploying complex process improvement projects at production facilities globally. You take an active role in the Engineering and Data Sciences team, based in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands and Vilvoorde, Belgium.
+ You lead the deployment of process control technologies at Cargill sites. You identify new opportunities for process improvement by analysing production data and developing process control strategies aligned with business objectives. You coordinate process control technology and best practice development with R&D and Plant Operations groups. You validate performance of control strategies and determine value created. You communicate control technology objectives, achievements and payback. You assist in developing solutions for real-time plant monitoring.
+ You provide process control and other engineering expertise within Cargill productivity projects related to yield improvement, throughput, down-time reduction, product quality, energy reduction, minimization of operator intervention and variable cost reduction.
+ You interact with Engineering Data Sciences subject matter experts, BU Process Improvement Groups, and Operations Teams to drive successful implementation of projects and development of new projects.
+ You provide timely communication to key stakeholders (operations, business leadership, technology, and engineering) on project performance and technology efforts.
+ You perform miscellaneous job-related duties as required.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree and typically 5 years’ experience in process control.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in developing strategies for plant instrumentation and advanced process control
+ Demonstrated proficiency in deploying complex process control systems
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical or food manufacturing environment or process development environment
+ Ability to identify new opportunities, develop business cases and manage process control projects
+ Strong knowledge of process engineering fundamentals and unit operations
+ Ability to operate independently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
+ Ability to build relationships and apply influencing skills with a diverse array of both technical and non-technical people
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
+ Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
+ Ability to successfully work in a manufacturing environment
