Position Purpose

Responsible of Country Tax Compliance and Supporting the Tax Manager in providing accurate Tax Advice in all different tax aspects for the businesses in Colombia utilizing substantial tax knowledge of medium to high complex level . The role includes act as primary support for the Tax Mananger in relation to tax advice, tax analysis and corporate work, resolution of disputes and complex projects.

Principal Accountabilities:

Tax Compliance Activities - (70%) :

+ Oversee for the preparation of annual tax returns and tax reconciliation Form 110 and 2516

+ Oversee preparation of VAT Tax Claims for Colombia legal entities

+ Provde technical support on moderate to complex tax transactions and tax issues. It includes with direction from Tax Manager (80% of the time for the CPN and DMS Businesses in Bogotá, 20% in CPLA).

+ Act as Special Matter Especialist (SME) leading the ERP implementation including data requierements, training, configuration of tax reports, testing of sap solutions, and oversees for work by less senior members.

+ Responsible for updating Tax Contingencies and Tax Reserves for USGAAP Purposes

+ Provides support to Global Mobility as SME in taxes for individuals

+ Responsible for preparing tax rulings before the Tax Administration when needed. Tax Solutions and Tax Advice - (25%):

+ A Responsible to conduct tax related research and analysis proactively, measuring impacts and proving substantial understanding of tax regulations.

+ pplies tax understanding and analisis to develop tax planning solutions such as capital structure, thin cap rules, tax incentives , trading, supply chain etc.

+ Provides drafts of several tax matters to Tax Manger for its review (technically suppored highe level analisis of legislation and tax jurisprudence required)

+ Facilitates training tax sessions in any tax matter, to non tax employees and non tax functions when required with minimal input from Tax Manager.

+ Obtain approval from Tax Manager on large political issues of government related matters that could impact Cargill’s operations.

+ Support Corporate Affairs and Tax Manager in providing tax analisis of tax planning ideas and process improvement initiatives of tax reforms. Tax Disputes and Tax Audits - (5%)

+ Responsible for compiling tax evidence in response to moderate risk audits and information requests from the Tax Authorities, oversees work of less senior staff and looks for approval of Tax Manager

+ Responsible to handle communication with Tax Authorities required limited oversight from Tax Manager (for example in Municipal litigations and National Tax Assesments)

+ Supports Tax Manger to define litigation strategy and provides answers to tax manager in sensitive complex issues related to tax matters.

+ Prepares tax appeals to moderate-high complex issues, and/or coordinates the review of these documents when prepared by externa counsel in order to filter basics before obtaining approval from Tax Manager. (Municipal/National appeals at administrative level).

+ Keeps updated status of ongoing litigations.

+ Attends hearings, and appealings from a processal perspective, availability to attend tax auditors, participation in meetings with tax authorities, requests of audencies, processal issues, coordination of meetings with external advisors, presentation of consultations when applicable (national and municipal issues).

Qualifications



Minimum Required Qualifications

* Licensed CPA (being also a lawyer will be a a plus). * Specialization in Taxes from a well know and recognized local university * Proven Fully bilingual written/oral English-Spanish * From 5 years to 7 yesars of experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm, major law firm or multi-national company working in the area of direct & indirect taxation. * High knowledge of complex tax rules, VAT and Muncipal Taxes in Colombia. * Windows expert (Excel, Power Point, Word) * Having a net of tax experts and contacts within the Tax Administration is a plus * Experience in attending tax audits and tax requirments * Experience in providing solutions and recommendations for complex tax topics * Experience attending transnational companies * Experience in developing base roles for compliance work * Experience in tax litigations is required. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Able to speak in public, easily and comfortable * Has to be an aggressive professional able to keep high level conversations with main stakeholders within the organization. * Team worker

Preferred Qualifications

* CPA and Tax Lawyer * Prior work experience in companies with multiple business lines and tax incentives. * Experience participating in tax commitees or tax chambers of commerce is a plus. * Knowledge of SAP / JDE is a plus * Willing to supervise or oversee for a small group of tax profesionals.
