Description

Reporting to the Safety Manager this position is an integral part of the EHS team and will provide support for the development, implementation and hands-on support of our Health and Safety. This position will perform tasks and complete projects to support continuous improvement for the prevention and reduction of workplace injuries and illness to achieve a proactive safety environment. This individual will work with all stakeholders to ensure they are involved in this process and understand the requirements.

Principal Accountabilities:

35%Identifying, investigating and correcting non-compliances and unsafe conditions. Reporting results and recommendations back to the key stakeholders. 35%Help to ensure compliance with Cargill’s safety policies, procedures and programs. (Implement and review and programs , procedures and related tasks) 10%Accountable of all safety projects assigened to it. Ensuring that project status updates are communicated, and interventions are completed. 10% Help out Collecting, analyzing and summarizing statistics and report information. 10%Supporting all other safety projects and initiatives given by Satefy Manager including training of employees.

Qualifications



Required:



+ High School diploma or equivalent

+ Effective communication skills both verbal and written

+ Analytical problem solving and decision making

+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint

+ High level of organization and planning

+ Ability to take initiative and work both independently and with a team

+ Values differences and demonstrates appreciation for stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and perspectives

+ Excellent time management is required to manage the dual nature of this role

+ General knowledge of Quebec Health and safety regulations

+ Ability to synthesize and analyze data

+ Fluency both oral and written in French is mandatory

+ Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

+ Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old

Preferred:



+ 2 to 5 years of related experience

+ Post-secondary education, and completion of program in safety related discipline

+ English proficiency

+ Available for call in on off shift hours in emergency situations

+ Ability to work in a case ready meat processing facility with exposure to cold This temporary position is located in Chambly, QC; however please expect receiving calls from a 204 area code in case you are considered.
