At its core, our business is about working with customers to understand their commodity exposure and structure risk management (over-the-counter) products to meet their needs. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cargill Risk Management has offices in 11 countries. The Director, energy derivatives role is designed to increase the origination effectiveness, efficiency, and results of externally focused sales teams across the organization. The Director works with regional management and sales teams to implement product line strategies, increase sales team technical competency, and identify local market opportunities. In addition, the Director shares relevant market information, product strategies, and customer insights with peers across the business for adoption in other geographies. Market opportunities are communicated to product line management for possible new product development consideration. This role also provides effective input and feedback on constructive sales tools, promotions, and other tactics to engage customers and the sales team. Principal Accountabilities

90% Marketing/Origination -

+ Assess, Develop, and Strategically grow the consumer segment of the energy marketplace, which would include Crude Oil, Natural Gas, Refined Products, NGL’s, and Electricity

+ Play a lead and key role on the energy team’s sales and origination activities by engaging in the following – - Being the primary face of Cargill to their clients primarily in Mexico and Brazil, as well as other LATAM countries - Develop, and Maintain relationships with both existing customers as well as Identify, Prospect, and Onboard new clients - Analyzing historical data, assisting in account set-up, quoting prices, trade execution, conceptualizing hedge structures, confirming trades, coordinating with accounting and trading teams

+ Be the primary face of Cargill to the external marketplace and to represent the Cargill brand. - Strong team player with demonstrated willingness to widely share knowledge and expertise, and also challenge traditional thinking - Strong understanding of the broader energy segments with an emphasis on knowledge of fundamentals and pricing dynamics. - Broad understanding of energy derivatives and risk management strategies that would include futures, swaps, and options - Knowledge of commodities and capital markets and ability to understand the macro/micro implications of market movements - Strong business and commercial acumen, and an ability to influence customers - Ability to prioritize, make decisions quickly, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision - Strong analytical mind to get an in-depth feel for both the complexities of the market, as well as the risks that our customers face - Ability to travel domestically/internationally 50% (estimated) annually if needed - Knowledge of the Dodd Frank regulations 10% Administrative

+ May get involved in quoting activity for self and other members of the sales team. Includes reviewing, confirming trades and managing phone traffic. Creating and updating customer presentations, working closely with salesforce.com and additional sales systems, trade proofing, contacting customers regarding trading, expirations, settlements, margining and collateral. #LI-JG1

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications


+ 5 years of customer-facing experience marketing derivatives, across multiple commodities.

+ 3 Experience in sales, energy, business, finance or experience serving energy-based customers

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Related Field

+ Spanish/English Speaking ability

+ Demonstrated success in teaching/communicating complex concepts, products, and information

+ Knowledge of futures and options markets, and trading strategies.

+ Team player and customer oriented with high standards of professionalism with external & internal customers

+ Strong business acumen and ability to build relationships with multiple levels within an organization

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Must be comfortable working with people from different countries and cultures

+ Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications



+ Experience in commodities trading and merchandising

+ Advanced degree in Finance, Economics or other technical areas.

+ Strong presentation skills and persuasiveness.

+ Strong math skills, problem solving skills & attention to detail

+ Portuguese speaking ability
