Job location: Herent (Belgium) or France, Germany, Sweden, UK, Denmark Ensure that Cargill Malt plants are supplied with best quality targeted from strategic origins and suppliers. Up-stream and pro-active quality determination : before harvest, during harvest, post-harvest, prior to shipment, upon shipment Maintenance of Supplier relationship enabling adherence to the execution of long term delivery plan adherence in quantity and quality. Major Tasks:

+ General Suppliers Quality/Services/ Relationship Management:

+ Lead suppliers communication plans for technical/quality activities with regional and selected global suppliers in support to regional SC/QC managers. Provide timely technical support in addressing performance issues and other quality opportunities.

+ Assists in setting barley specifications in accordance with the crop quality and customer needs.

+ Accountable for co-ordinating in-spec/timely delivery to the plants. Track progress, anticipate possible issues and if needed, facilitate the alignment of functions to propose alternatives.

+ Qualify potential new suppliers and maintain supplier rating maps

+ Barley Quality determination

+ Support the Trade execution by anticipating/addressing quality issues prior to shipment/loading by assessing quality upstream of the supply-chain till actual shipment.

+ Sampling upstream before shipment / loading in order to design a Barley quality mapping

+ Help monitor and report on weather and crop activity throughout the year to provide informative and relevant information to the malt team, and customers as required.

+ Organise and execute crop survey for- and post-harvest in North European origins. Provide technical agronomical processing expertise, including sampling and analysis to guide and support Origination and Technical solution Managers in the determination of BOM and selection of varieties/origins


Required Qualifications:

+ Minimum of 3-year degree in agronomy / agricultural (plant & soil biology, grain) sciences

+ Preferably BS degree, possibly a Masters degree

+ 3 years experience, preferably in malting or grain business in a technical role

+ Recognized expertise in both the scientific knowledge and operational practice

+ Demonstrated teamwork and the ability to effectively collaborate with and lead others, at the regional level

+ Proven ability to influence others outside of formal reporting relationships

+ Proven effective problem solving and decision making skills to support Trade Execution and Quatlity objectives

+ Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and polarities

+ Proven ability to develop relationships

+ Availability to travel 60% of the time (sometimes short term notice driven by stakeholders needs (SC, Origination, Production)

+ Effective oral and written communication skills in English and French or German – Nordic languages an asset

+ Data Management / Computer skills

+ Logistics Preferred Qualifications:

+ Preferred experience in the malting and/or brewing/cereal processing industry

+ Experience working directly with grains suppliers

+ Preferred knowledge of laboratory operations

+ High adaptability and capacity for change

+ High emotional intelligence and ability to connect with suppliers in various locations/countries

+ High resilience and ability to quickly respond to and resolve issues

+ Analytical and detailed, curious

+ Ability to integrate and operate in a multi-cultural and diverse environment, inclusive mindset
