Job location: Liverpool (Brocklebank) Cargill’s portfolio of refined vegetable oils allows our customers in food manufacturing, retail, catering and food services to create a wide range of tasty and nutritious food products. We partner with our customers to develop innovative products and solutions together to help them meet their consumer’s requirements. We are looking to appoint a Reliability Engineer based out of our Rapeseed crush and refinery plant in Liverpool (Brocklebank). The prime purpose of the Reliability Engineer is to proactively and safely maximize plant reliability whilst ensuring equipment capability and efficiency, by deploying Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) techniques. The successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to embed Cargill Maintenance excellence techniques in our Brocklebank plant, closely collaborating with all technical and plant operational personnel in addition to our Maintenance centres of best practice. The position holder will be an expert in Mechanical reliability and provide cover for the site Maintenance Manager when required.

Main Tasks:

+ Manage and lead RCM and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes to determine equipment functionality, capability, probability of asset failure and provide severity analysis and mitigation strategies

+ Take ownership of and lead the criticality assessment of all existing and new assets on site with a plan to minimise repeat failures

+ Assist the site maintenance planner to review all new work order requests for planning and scheduling and to investigate the scope of work orders and prioritize work orders to be scheduled

+ Work in close collaboration with Cargill’s Centre of Excellence to ensure best practice maintenance reliability techniques are embedded at the site



+ Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering subject would be useful but not essential

+ A Level 2/3 Vibration Analysis and a vocational engineering qualification (HNC/HND) we would strongly consider candidates from the time served route

+ A Masters Degree focusing on Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Asset Integrity or similar would be beneficial but is not required

+ Able to work safely and embed a strong safety culture at all times

+ Experience from a heavy industrial processing background (e.g. Chemicals, Heavy Pharmaceuticals, Biofuels, Food/Feed Ingredients)

+ Deep understanding of predictive maintenance technologies and analytics

+ Understanding of asset criticality and integrity

+ Experience working with management Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in a Computerised Maintenance Management System – (Maximo preferred)

+ Experience with data management tools and systems

+ Proven hands-on knowledge of and passion for continuous improvement and problem solving techniques e.g. Kaizen, Lean 6 Sigma, RCA

+ Demonstrated ability to influence others and work with multifunctional teams and personnel

+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives and communicate goals, objectives and accomplishments to a broad audience

+ Clear verbal and written communication in fluent English
