**Senior Electrical Engineer**

**Job location: Manchester**
Cargill’s plant in Manchester is a production facility which is critical to the UK food, spirit, pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetics industries. The plant and offices located in Manchester are part of the Cargill’s starches and sweeteners business which produces sweeteners, wheat protein and alcohol for customers in the confectionery, brewing, drink, dairy, farming and bakery sectors. This is a key position that will lead the sites Electrical Engineering project deliverables and provide subject matter expertise to the maintenance and reliability strategy of the sites electrical assets. The position holder will lead competency assessments and electrical safety partnering across the site to ensure safe systems of work are sustained at all times.
+ Create, design and improve new electrical engineering projects according to site requests
+ Request and evaluate quotations and choose third party suppliers with the site project manager
+ Plan, supervise and execute projects ensuring safety is maintained at all times and projects are delivered on time and within budget
+ Ensure plant maintenance reliability from an electrical perspective, minimising emergency down time caused by electrical, instrumentation and automation problems
+ Follow best practice to improve the existing electrical and instrumentation systems and procedures
+ Follow the Management of Change (eMOC) procedure when changes on the original design are required and ensure safety of the process
+ Keep program documentation and P&ID’s up to date
+ Design and develop improvement projects and plan and implement reliability projects
+ Ensure continuity of manufacturing by ensuring electrical backup systems are fit for purpose
+ Troubleshoot the electrical systems using root cause analysis techniques and work with E&I teams to understand and prevent repeated downtime and provide support in emergency situations
+ Implement a strategy for the sourcing, replacement, engineering and troubleshooting of automation systems that are compliant with legal and Cargill requirements
+ Set a development program for engineers, electricians and apprentices
+ Train and manage the site electrical team to work safely at all times
+ Prepare and maintain electrical documentation and prepare a monthly report on E&I performance
+ A Bachelors/ Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
+ Proven Electrical Engineering experience in a large manufacturing facility (Chemical, Food or Starch facility would be an advantage) accountable for electrical projects & maintenance
+ Low, medium and high voltage experience and demonstrable training
+ Senior authorized person or equivalent would be advantageous
+ Demonstrated ability to influence others and work with multifunctional teams and personnel
+ Strong prioritisation and time management skills
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives/projects and communicate goals, objectives and accomplishments to a broad audience
+ Hands- on knowledge of working directly in a plant environment with a good understanding of plant processes and operational needs
+ Deep knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements in relation to maintenance of asset and process integrity, such as safety, environmental and food safety regulations
+ Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement and usage of reliability tools (5W, RCA) and knowledge of Six Sigma
+ Problem solving skills and ability to deliver results under challenging circumstances
+ Excellent fluent English (writing and speaking) and the ability to communicate with people from different departments and/or locations
