Position Purpose & Summary The Strategy and Portfolio Manager owns and manages the business portfolio of critical projects through strategic planning, analytics and optimization. Responsible for working across multiple species segments and functions to help drive growth and efficiencies in CFN-US. This is accomplished through a thorough understanding of the customer, consumer, and competitive environment, while working together with key stakeholders to develop and execute effective strategies and tactics in the Cargill Feed & Nutrition (CFN) US business. Accountable for working with the Business Leadership Team to identify critical projects that drive profitable growth of the portfolio, ensure alignment to our strategy and prioritize resources effectively. Additionally, responsible for the CFN-US merger & acquisitions game board and leading/managing corporate development activities for the business. Provides overall support for the full Management Execution System of the CFN-US business. This position is designed to support a variety of projects and tasks, all leading to the successful execution of our US CFN business Strategy. This role is a member of the CFN U.S. Leadership Advisory Council (senior leaders).

Principal Accountabilities

+ 30% - Project Management and Strategy Execution - Partner with business leaders on the overall execution of commercial line portfolios and species strategies - Project management of critical projects for the Business Leadership Team that require leading a cross-functional team to complete. - As needed, drive strategy refresh for the business - Conduct periodic competitor reviews of targeted companies within the US feed space. Establish overall competitive intelligence approach

+ 20% - Portfolio Review/Management and Management Execution System alignment - Responsible for managing the high level portfolio of CFN-US projects, providing recommendations on the prioritization of resources (people, time, and budget) and ensuring effective project management for key projects. - Assess progress against species strategies on a semi-annual basis - Facilitate the process for bringing new ideas forward for review and decisions by the BLT - Manage the gate review process for key projects - Manage project budget, timeline, and resources ensuring quality results. - Track and manage return on investments for key projects to include tracking performance of critical projects

+ 40% - People Development - Lead Strategy & Portfolio Management team and Business Development Team to include actions associated with talent and people development. Develop capabilities of individuals through portfolio and project experience. Establish clear success plan for team.

+ 10% - Corporate Development – Manage all corporate development activities for the CFN-US, to include establishing CFN-US game board and leading M&A planning/activity


Required Qualifications

+ 4 year degree, preferably in Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, or Business

+ 7 years of management experience or participation in a corporate Strategy Development program

+ 4 years of business experience in Strategy or Corporate Development

+ Demonstrated ability to create and manage complex projects from inception to implementation to achieve business success – working across job function and multiple geographies

+ Demonstrated ability to be agile and provide leadership and influence in a decentralized organizational structure.

+ Ability to create and sustain relationships thru strong written/verbal communication skills.

+ Demonstrated ability to manage financial elements of the business, including budgets. Ability to measure, evaluate and act on financial and operational results.

+ Demonstrated leadership in talent management, development and retention.

+ Strong influencing, facilitation and collaboration skills in addition to strong execution and relating skills.

+ Can articulate visions/strategies/ideas/proposals clearly and concisely.

+ Ability to work in a diverse and often changing project environment .

+ Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, including developing and deploying best practices throughout the business.

+ Demonstrated results focus.

+ Advanced management skills (organizational, project, program).

+ In order to be successful in this role, candidates must be able to work in a team oriented environment and manage multiple projects and priorities.

+ Willingness to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

+ Knowledge of animal nutrition industry
