Regional Operations Manager

The Regional Operations Manager develops and provides strategic leadership for 4-10 Cargill Feed and Nutrition manufacturing locations in the United States. The role will be responsible to ensure those locations meet internal and external customer expectations. They will provide plant operations leadership relating to EHS/FSQR programs, personnel, continuous improvement, production excellence, reliability excellence and capital project portfolio management. This manager has a key role in various business improvement activities, customer support, and operations leadership activities, while overseeing multiple plant locations within the Cargill Feed and Nutrition (CFN) US region. 50%Direct accountability for the results of the plant operations, including, but not limited to: personnel, safety, housekeeping, maintenance, service quality and costs in the region. Meeting customer expectations effectively and efficiently are key priorities for this role within CFN US. Oversee and make decisions for process efficiency improvements/changes, accident investigation reporting, plant staffing. Recommends and executes on base and non-base capital spending. Ensures government regulation compliance, for FDA, OSHA, EPA, etc. 25%Participates with CFN US Business Operations Leadership in development and deployment of strategies in the Business operations arena. Acts as expert advisor to Plant Managers in processes and programs. Provides leadership on World Class level attainment for the plant and region. Directs and supports plant operations budget development, implementation and execution. Coordinates and collaborates with RMS, supply chain, and other CFN US functions as needed. 25% Talent Management and Development. Provides regular and timely coaching to team members. Motivates for high performance and excellence. Provides an environment that supports personal growth and development for region operations employees. Leads and supports region production team engagement activities and programs. Collaborates with Human Resources as needed/required for development, training and performance improvement programs
+ Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or other related field or equivalent commensurate experience.
+ Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in successful plant operations management.
+ Minimum 10 Years in pet or human food manufacturing.
+ Demonstrated successful ability to lead a project across multiple locations or functions.
+ Ability to solve complex problems through innovation, collaboration, creativity and determination
+ Demonstrated successful experience in various areas of production operations including safety, quality control, engagement, team development, capital projects, logistics and manufacturing.
+ Ability to operate at both the strategic and tactical level
+ Conflict management and resolution skills
+ Strong drive for results and strong business acumen
+ Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop people
+ Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization, written and verbal
+ Demonstrated collaboration with other businesses and/or functions
+ Ability to travel 30 – 60% as needed
+ Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, etc.
+ Experience leading multiple manufacturing locations.
+ Experience in agricultural, feed industry, or food industry
+ Knowledge of food safety requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business or other related area
