Position Purpose & Summary Cargill Health Technologies (CHT) is a business in the Cargill Premix and Nutrition group in the Cargill Animal Nutrition Enterprise. Diamond V is a global animal health business in CHT focused on bringing immune strength products that help customers with food safety, animal health, antibiotic stewardship and performance improvements. Diamond V is headquartered in Cedar Rapids, IA but present in all major global markets. The Commercial Director Ruminants is responsible for developing and implementing the long-term business strategy for Diamond V in Europe. It involves leading a commercial team in Sales, Business Development, and Technical applications to achieve business growth and defining where to play and how to win in the Europe market. Additionally, this role will manage a network of distribution partners, represent Diamond V in major food safety and animal health conversations in EU. Finally, this role will be a key contributor to the portfolio review team, responsible for innovation across Diamond V, by bringing the ‘voice of EU’ to the portfolio work. Must develop an understanding of all the critical facets of the current and future issues impacting the industry across the region and will require a strong personal interaction with key accounts, customers and distributors in this specie across Europe to ensure we understand customer needs and that product offerings match those needs and give us a unique value positioning in the market. Responsible for developing the team and building the capabilities required to make Diamond V Europe successful. Is a member of the Diamond V Europe regional management team.

Principal Accountabilities

_40% - Strategy Design and Execution_

+ Lead and/or participate in the development and deployment of the Diamond V EU ruminant strategy. Design, develop and ensure execution of regional commercial and technical short/medium- and long-term action plans, in order to keep and improve our market share, sales and distribution in a profitable manner and grow profitability of the ruminant product line, including people, product and program development. Responsible for P&L results of the ruminant business in Europe. Ensure team capabilities and performance through strategic talent - identify, recruit, motivate and retain best available talent within the technical sales force team as well as coach, train, support team members, customers and distributors. Responsible for the onboarding and safety cultures of team in the region. _30% - Customer Value_

+ Develop tactics focused on creating value for customers by customer segment and key accounts and develop growth strategies for each segment and key account. Oversee the application of margin management (pricing), positioning and go to market strategy. _20% - Distributor Management_

+ Design and deploy the strategy for identifying, developing and managing relationships with distributors across Europe and leading business development in each market. _10% - Market Access Development_

+ Develop Diamond V’s brand presence in leading forums in food safety and animal health in Europe. In partnership with global research team, lead Europe based commercial trial opportunities. Participate as a member of portfolio review teams to bring the Europe voice into innovation projects.

Qualifications



Required Qualifications



+ University degree (M.S, PHD or DVM), in animal nutrition, health or veterinary science

+ 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, technology with a track record of being able to grow a sustainable business.

+ Demonstrated ability to develop and lead high performing teams.

+ Demonstrated ability to manage financial elements of the business, including budgets, product margins and credit risk.

+ Strong knowledge of animal health, nutrition, processing and management practices.

+ Direct sales and distribution management experience

+ Fully Bilingual in English and at least one other European language

+ Computer literate

+ Proficient in negotiation and conflict management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
