Position Purpose

Cargill Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (CSSP) is a global organization that strives to strategically source and leverage Cargill’s indirect spend; this indirect spend spans Plant Materials and Services (MRO, Capital, Plant Services, etc); Corporate Material and Services (travel, IT, HR, etc); Chemicals, Energy; Packaging; and Ingredients. The Cargill Strategic Sourcing Procurement team is responsible for managing over 9 billion in spend. The Buying Category Team Leader is a critical position and will have accountability for coordinating and supporting all buying activities related to Plant Materials & Services in North Latam (Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Peru). This position will work closely with category teams, Business Engagement and operational teams to implement the sourcing strategy and deliver value to our customers. The Buying Category Team Leader will work to engage a team of buying team members to ensure that the full implementation of sourcing strategies are realized, work to ensure all activities are executed with excellence and opportunities for continuous improvement are identified and implemented. This position will partner closely with their peers on a regional to drive greater consistency and excellence across the entire Cargill Sourcing Strategic Procurement organization. This position will report to the Buying Supervisor PM&S North Latam.

Principal Accountabilities

30% Buying Leadership

+ Provide buying leadership for Plant Materials & Services in North Latam (Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Peru), to deliver on key activities for buying in the countries in their area of accountability.

+ Establish clear plans to deliver on goals aligned with PM&S Category and deliver the value in the region of accountability. Collaborate with Buying Supervisor and PM&S category managers on additional areas that can drive value for the organization and prioritize resources accordingly.

+ Guide the team to work with global/regional PM&S category teams and ensures appropriate execution and deployment for procurement of indirect materials/goods, services and/or supplies previously approved by the category, for those spend limited that has agreed internally

+ Continues to build knowledge of the Source to Pay process for Cargill and how their respective team will deliver their part of the process. Share this knowledge back with key members of their team.

+ Overseeing Source to Payprocesses including supporting level 5 sourcing events and ad hoc business requests for categories managed by PM&S buying team and contract-level sourcing events, with regards to assessing, monitoring, reporting and implementing procurement processes.

+ Ensure the procurement processes are adhering to the CSSP Procurement Policy, Internal Risks/Controls, fraud Prevention guidelines and adheres to applicable laws, rules, and regulations; monitor compliance with these areas.

+ Deliver excellent client service experience with business units and functions.

+ Help resolve PM&S local buying issues and liase with the appropriate parties in CSSP, CBS or Suppliers to resolve issues. 30% Inform and Implement Sourcing Strategy

+ Provide Leadership to PM&S buying team in identifying opportunities for cost saving, in alignment with category strategies, to ensure best cost and value to Cargill.

+ Connect, collaborate and get aligned with PM&S category teams to ensure effective execution and implementation of category strategies through buying activities, while ensuring compliance to CSSP procurement policy.

+ Mentor and guide buying team to effectively develop and implement sourcing strategies for PM&S category areas and identify opportunities for organization to support business requirements and sourcing support needs.

+ Guide and monitor RFx events making sure those follows CSSP Procurement Policy and procedures, fostering the use of buying tools (i.e. Ariba e-sourcing, e-auctions).

+ Assist buying team on complex deployments, negotiations and contracts.

+ Accountable for achieving Value targets and goals.

+ Work in collaboration with Spot Buying Team Lead for identifying opportunities to optimize spot buying transactions, and include those in the category strategy revision. 15% People Management and Talent Management

+ Active engagement with team members, ensuring work direction is clear, objectives are defined and met.

+ Accountable for talent development, performance management, succession planning and engagement of direct team. Expected to demonstrate a culture of one team, helping to mentor and guide the broader set of resources working to implement category strategies.

+ Effectively prioritizing work assignments and allocating resources while meeting stakeholder expectations, establishing and adjusting priorities.

+ Supervise staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary.

+ Support change across the buying team. 15% Stakeholder Management -

+ Focus on utilizing a collaborative approach, developing relationships with various stakeholders, quickly developing credibility for the department and buy-in across business.

+ Work closely with Plant Managers, maintenance supervisors, BOSC functions, to thoroughly understand their requirements as well as sourcing/buying support needs, and ensure such needs/requirements are incorporated in sourcing/buying strategy.

+ As needed, prepare and manage stakeholders meetings in order to provide project status, plans, progress, help needed, get alignment, buying KPIs, and also ensure feedback of stakeholders are received and managed accordingly within CSSP. 10% Data Analysis and Reporting

+ Keep tracking of Buying KPIs defined for PM&S and ensure accurate measurement.

+ Perform data analysis, prepare consolidated reports of PM&S buying activities and provide timely feedback to managers with respect to issues, areas of opportunities identified, corrective actions.

Qualifications



+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent education and experience.

+ 5 years relevant experience with increasing responsibility; 3 years of supervisory experience in complex procurement

+ Experience managing and developing team talent for medium size groups/teams. (10 employees). Prior experience in managing teams in a virtual environment.

+ Prior experience in organizational transformation and effectively leading an organization through change.

+ Demonstrated strong self-initiative, sense of urgency and customer relationship building skills.

+ Proven communication skills in English - verbal and written communication skills

+ Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships, gain credibility and partner with internal customers and co-workers.

+ Demonstrate a "hands-on" style and willingness to engage proactively with stakeholders at all levels, within the sub-region.

+ Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.

+ Ability to present information (prepare reports, rationale and recommendations clearly and concisely to all levels of management).

+ Strong understanding of the Procure to Pay process and related technologies

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), SAP ECC, Ariba or other PRTP Cloud solutions Preferred Qualifications:

+ Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred. APICS or ISM certification a plus.

+ Six sigma or lean certifications and a few years of experience implementing the principles.
