This position will be responsible for designing the technical solution and leading the development team to deliver data/analytics products for Cargill’s data platform program. This role will be working very closely with Product owners and Data Architect to understand the product backlog and overall architecture and vision and provide technical leadership to the scrum development team of size 4-5 to deliver features/outcomes of high quality as per sprint plans. This position will also lead discussions with Data Lead, Architect and other technical leads to continue to improve architecture, leverage available tools within Cargill and outside, optimize performance etc. This position will also be accountable for review of your team’s work to ensure quality, scalability, integrability of the product. Product Development and Technical Leadership: 70% * Lead the design, build and test of the product development for one or more scum teams * Provide guidance and mentor the team on the development standards and methods * Identifies dependencies across scrum teams and solves conflicts * Provide though leadership in areas of design and solution for the given requirements, and impacts of changing requirements * Own technical design for more complex areas * Review and approve design and code * Ensure the solution designed and built is supportable as part of a DevOps model * Work with Scrum Master / Business Analyst to define the product backlog based on given requirements * Work with the Scrum Master and Product Owner on bi-weekly sprint planning * Perform integration development to move data from production systems to CDP using patterns and standards by CDP team * Perform data transformation, harmonization as needed. * Deliver high quality solutions with no defects * Provide necessary technical support through all phases of testing and incident handling after deployment. Architecture and Governance: 30% * Use technical expertise and knowledge of architecture to benchmark with third party organizations to identify and incorporate best practices into the overall architecture strategy * Proactively appraise and modify current architecture to identify deficiencies, research alternatives, and determine improvements * Manage and review architecture solutions, ensuring they are aligned to Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards, quality and principles, as well as meet EA guidelines, common solutions and services are leveraged and that they meet financial targets (cost and benefits). * Participate in Solution Architecture Reviews as the primary mechanism of architecture quality and compliance assurance.


Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Statistics, Business or related field * 6 years of relevant professional experience * 3 Years of experience in any Hadoop Distribution * 3 Years of experience in building batch and streaming data pipelines using sqoop, Kafka, spark * 2 Years of experience working on SQL Queries/Views * Demonstrated experience of leading teams and large scale complex projects to deliver products and solutions * Demonstrated ability to think strategically, create a vision and execute on that vision * Should have domain experience in Commodities Trading and appetite for building expertise on it over time * Demonstrated experience working with end to end software development using agile/scrum methodology * Knowledge on how Data can create value to business/domain (across life cycle) and appetite for building this skill over time * Strong experience working with Hadoop or other Big Data platform and building solutions that deliver value through leveraging data as an asset * Experience working with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI * Demonstrated ability to define architectural concepts and standards * Demonstrated ability to define architectural concepts and standards * Proven record of interacting with and influencing multiple business units and functional teams; globally. * Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to build trust and strong relationships * Strong communication and presentation skills * Result orientation and ability to work in ambiguous situations where requirements are not clear, specifications not in detail etc. * Experience in managing third party vendors in a global, managed services environment. * Strong conceptual strength, strategic thinking, problem solving, technical, and analytical skills. * Demonstrated application of strong market awareness and customer focus. * Ability to use an entrepreneurial approach to solving business problems * Ability to ask next level questions anticipating business inquiries and performing root cause analysis

Preferred Qualifications

* Understanding trading and risk management concepts – MTM, Position, P&L, Inventory, V&R, Stress etc. and how data can impact decision making * Experience of leading people to success * Experience working with various types of data sources such as SAP, JDE, legacy ERP systems etc. * Experience with unix shell scripting, python
