Description
The position holder provides general supervision over a specific plant area through a team of Head Operators, All-round Operators and Operators. The Area Superintendent (ASI) gives direction, sets the daily priorities and is fully responsible for all daily operational and technical aspects, focusing on EH&S (safety, food safety and environment), quality, quantity, reliability, cost management, continuous improvement and people development.

Major Tasks

_Cost management_

+ You will be responsible for cost control in the widest sense; manpower, yields, OPRER, waste control, energy consumption and cost of non-conformity.

+ Reliability

+ You will be accountable for stable operation of departmental processes. Identify structural problems and organize support. _Environment, Health & Safety_

+ You will be responsible for risk control in the plant area through implementing EH&S standards to prevent property damage, personal accidents and environmental incidents (zero defects).

+ You will ensure department is in compliance with legal, local and corporate guidelines.

+ You will identify structural problems and organize support. _Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory_

+ You will be responsible for food safe production through implementing Quality standards resulting in high standard sanitation, compliance with customer requirements, legal-, local- and corporate guidelines/ directives and satisfactory audit follow up.

+ You will identify structural problems and organize support. _Continuous improvement_

+ You will be responsible for identifying, removing non-value added activities and initiating value adding activities.

+ You will be actively participating in & support of continuous improvement program. _People Development_

+ You will be responsible for talent management of direct reports and for own development, using PMP as a tool.

+ You will be accountable to ensure direct reports use PMP as a tool and for timely updates.

+ You will be supporting/advising HR on succession planning and training programs



Qualifications



Qualifications

+ Bachelor technical or technological degree

+ 3 years’ experience in a highly automated plant operation

+ Proven record of leading a team

+ Knowledge of products and production processes

+ General knowledge in food production & Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points

+ Communication/presentation skills

+ Managerial skills

+ Broad orientation/knowledge on technical issues

+ Dutch and English language
