Description
The Operational Controller for our Animal Nutrition & Health business role provides an excellent opportunity to those candidates looking to not only solidify their controlling skills, but also prepare themselves for the next career step into more senior finance opportunities. This role reports directly into the Finance Manager of the group and sits on a team of 32fte total, covering all of the EMEA region. In this role, you will be a trusted partner to the Premix & Nutrition business Netherlands. Located in Rotterdam center where we create feed solutions for all species including ruminants, poultry and swine. With premixes, additives and specialities such as piglet feeds and milk replacers, we offer customized options to meet the needs of any operation. You will serve as the main link between the different sources of information and the relevant business stakeholders, providing them with a rigorous, analytical financial statement review performed at each business/country level. Continuous improvement of financial reporting processes will be crucial in the role. This role will be accountable for Business Operation and Supply Chain (BOSC) reporting and provide input for financial statement assurance and performing a first line of defence within the BOSC control framework. You work with the local BOSC management to identify their local reporting needs and to provide timely solutions. Working to ensure information from different sources is available in a timely fashion, the financial controller will be responsible for financial statement assurance and will perform a first line of defence within Cargill’s control framework.

Major Tasks



+ Maintain close cooperation with Plant and Supply Chain managers to understand the local business challenges and strategies;

+ Responsible for the preparation of regular monthly local BOSC reports and local management reporting;

+ Responsible for the local plant and supply chain budgeting and monitoring process, including cost control process of operations and supply chain expenses;

+ Review and control the yield calculation and report differences in joint collaboration with operations. Identify and follow up with several functions on improvement areas;

+ Assess the current month-end process on efficiency and timeliness regarding BOSC reporting. Ensure that key financial policies and other procedures are followed to support a strong system of controls;

+ Control the flow of goods and communicate the outcomes of the production process to relevant stakeholders;

+ Control all deliveries and receipt of raw materials are invoiced / received / weighing checks performed / procedures around product controls functioning (rework) and all reclassifications of stocks are reviewed.

+ Provide quarterly CRP comments around inventory and fixed assets and lower level financial review data;

+ Manage Cargill business services (CBS) performanceand end-to-end to processes from a Business Group perspective;

+ Monitor relevance and accuracy of the different sources of information;

+ Review balance sheet accounts prepared by CBS for inventory and fixed assets accounts. Review stocks and make sure physical stock confirmations are in line with accounting and calculated stocks;

+ Actively participate in the budget planning and forecasting activities of operations and supply chain. You assist in the yearly budget preparation;

+ Liaise with the regional management information, decision support and financial risk management teams on input and measurement of any key information needed on business group level.



Qualifications



Qualifications

+ Master’s Degree in Accounting with 5 years accounting experience

+ Minimum 3 years of Plant, Operations Control experience

+ Proven experience with local and US GAAP reporting

+ Fluent in Dutch and English

+ Proven ability to understand key business drivers and how to translate these into meaningful reportingDemonstrated ability to operate in a culture of continuous improvement, process optimization, and intellectual curiosity

+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

+ Strong problem solving and analytical skills

+ Demonstrated change agility

+ Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity

+ Understanding and experience working with JDE or SAP

+ Skilled at leveraging financial and business systems to monitor business activities and aid in decision making. Maintains working knowledge of data systems and applications;

+ Proven ability to manage outcomes whilst not having all employees reporting to yourself

+ Resilient and agile

+ Proven experience in capital management

+ Ability to travel up to 10%
