Job location(s): Schiphol or Warsaw Description The Customs Analyst role provides an excellent opportunity for customs professionals to take the step into an advisory and more strategic role within the Customs realm. The role not only supports the execution of import and/or export compliance tasks and other customs activities in Europe, it also requires analysis of complex data and reporting in order to provide different business units with strategic advice on trends, changes and opportunities. Responsibilities include working closely with internal business units to address risk and leverage customs opportunities, maintain control and compliance frameworks, contribute to government inquiries and provide operational guidance.The Customs Analyst sits in an international and tightly knit team of 5, reporting into the Customs Director who is based in the UK.

Your responsibilities:


+ DetermineHS codes , country of origin and customs valuation for Cargill’s import- and export trade flows

+ Prepare responses to government inquirie

+ Advise on ad-hoc Customs and International Trade related issues

+ Manage customs bonds, guarantees, authorizations and support AEO maintenance;

+ Strategic customs brokers management;

+ Accountable to the Customs Manager - Act as contact person for customs administration for in-country business units. _Data:_

+ Management of customs compliance data for internal and external requirements

+ Utilize customs compliance technology tools to extract and report data;

+ Conduct post import and export Risk Assessments and coordinate corrective actions where necessary. _Support of Regional Lead and team:_

+ Delivering customs training and internal customs council conferences

+ Designand implement local operating processes and procedures;

+ Identify cost reduction, cost avoidance and cost recovery opportunities



+ Completed Higher Education in Trade, Commerce, Customs & Trade Affairs or equivalent (HBO)

+ 3-5 years professional experience as a Customs Declarant or any of the following possibilities working in an operational capacity in Customs Administration, International Trade Department of any “Big 4” accounting firm, major law firm or multinational company, Customs brokerage, Customs department of logistical service provider or international industry;

+ Experience in Customs Compliance; Customs Risk Assessment/Customs Audit; Free Trade Agreements; Tariff Classification; Customs Valuation; Customs obligations inside Tax regulation;

+ Experience with tracking, communicating and implementing government regulatory/legislative decision making and/or audit processes;

+ Strong analytical skills and detail oriented mindset;

+ Excellent communication skills English, ability to communicate to stakeholders at different levels Preferred skills/ qualifications

+ Proficiency in SAP/GTS;

+ Strong technical knowledge of EU customs legislation, regulations and practice;

+ Ability to communicate effectively with management level Cargill personnel and business unit partners;

+ Ability to think regionally when contemplating customs;

+ 10% travel within Europe.
