Position Purpose & Summary Serving as a Business Leader counselor, manages one significant geography or industry with expert experience in: Strategy Development, Business Development, Strategic Planning and Implementation, Representation and Execution, and People, Resource, and Budget Management. This particular role will serve as a 50/50 shared resource between Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain EMEA and CASC Enterprise.
_30% Accountability Category #1: STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT_
+ Provides strategic direction to businesses strategy development for CASC EMEA including strategies and technology for new products, as well as new businesses and execution.
+ Utilizing expert experience of strategy & business development practices, provides actionable and high quality strategy, organizational, financial and operational support to Business leaders, based on deep understanding of the economics.
+ Provides management oversight and leadership to appropriate enterprise growth strategies, transactions, and integration teams for the most complex or highly sensitive strategy/business development projects for the businesses.
+ Prepares all communication shared with Executive Team (ET) or Board or Directors, for EMEA and CASC—working with peers.
+ Facilitate the EMEA strategy, business planning process, and the analysis and communication of business performance through efficient data reporting and communication tools and processes (along with FP&A).
+ As part of the CASC strategy team and CSD align/support/lead CASC and corporate strategic priorities driving best practices to strengthen strategic thinking capabilities for CASC and Cargill.
+ Continuously challenges status quo searching for optimal asset footprint or cost structures to reach long term financial objectives. _30% Accountability Category #2: STRATEGIC PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION_
+ Creates strategic plans to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. Recommends actions on significant business plans including major capital expenditures.
+ Leads the Business Planning process across the Group including detailed plans by Product Line (Grains, Biodiesel, Oils&Seeds)
+ Owns the Group Quarterly Operating review report.
+ Manages strategy/business development practices to create and secure approval for the organization's strategic plan, which includes environmental scans, analyses of organizational positioning, and other studies for EMEA or CASC.
+ Manages projects that are confidential, financially material & organizationally sensitive. _20% Accountability Category #3: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT_
+ Leads and guides Cargill’s growth programs in coordination with EMEA teams for major decisions to achieve growth and financial profitability by managing portfolio reviews and game-boards.
+ Actively identifies and recommends potential business opportunities, owns the game-board for the region/aligns with the enterprise and corporate. Systematically upgrades EMEA/CASC competition intelligence and maintains surveillance over industry opportunities.
+ Contributor/leader to the negotiation process. May perform financial analysis of potential candidates for business opportunities.
+ Acts as an advisor to Business Leaders in the evaluation of domestic and international merger and acquisition activities, divestitures, joint ventures, alliances, and alternative business combinations. Understands and interprets the impact of decisions to the organization’s profitability.
+ Develops and monitors profitability, productivity, and growth targets on new and existing business opportunities together with FP&A
+ Develops final reports for Senior Leadership , for EMEA and CASC. Facilitates presentations for Business Leaders in reference to various business development metrics, performance, and other information pertinent to the profitability and growth. _15% Accountability Category #4: REPRESENTATION & EXECUTION_
+ Develops complete business cases, from data gathering, experts’ opinion and key stakeholder analysis to present best in class materials to Senior leaders, based on compelling economics
+ Leads the CASC Strategy team communications and sets best practices for communication with ET, BoD, CASC LT or external audiences up to high standards to strengthen CASC EMEA/enterprise brand _5% Accountability Category #5: PEOPLE, RESOURCE, & LEADERSHIP_
+ Participates in and recommends the recruitment of top talent for Corporate Strategy and Development
+ Accountable for performance management, talent development, succession planning and engagement as a key resource for the LT
+ Leads and participates in the selection of staff and other employees; determines resource need, plans for future workforce needs, and approves selection decisions.
+ Manages multiple priorities from high level in the organization. Operate efficiently under stress and leads others under demanding work environment.
+ Five to ten years of commercial business experience (sales, merchandising, new business development, finance, etc.) or
+ Demonstrated experience and results in strategy and systematically managing growth and/or continuous improvement within a business group or function.
+ Deep financial understanding and business economics to build/present sound business cases.
+ Experience in strategy processes and in depth analysis preferably in commodities across a complex organization
+ Project Management. Track record of large projects execution in the commodity industry and successful capital project development and execution.
+ Previous involvement in systematic analysis of business opportunities (e.g. projects approvals, investment/divestment analysis, NPV calculations, strategic planning, risk assessments )
+ Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize information, reach conclusions and achieve results.
+ Excellent communication skills – both one-to-one and as a facilitator of medium/large groups
+ Outstanding process and results orientation with demonstrated success working through others
+ Able to actively leverage full suite of tools available through Microsoft office suite of products (or similar).
+ Demonstrated ability to understand and deal effectively in technically complex situations
+ Adept at operating in the intersections of facility operations, information technology, and external marketplace realities.
+ Experienced in successful cross-functional and cross-business group collaboration.
+ College Degree –economics, engineering, business administration
+ Post graduate studies in business or strategy or specialization in ags
+ Thought leadership to interact with Senior leaders of the business group, enterprise and Cargill
+ Teamwork - strong interpersonal skills including relationship-building and collaboration with people from different disciplines and across the organization. Ability to operate efficiently under stress and managing ambiguity
+ Pro-active, self-starter- can operate with high degree of freedom
+ Solid commodity business understanding - working knowledge of global commodity trading, processing and shipping activities
+ Working knowledge of oilseed processing industry, including mechanical and chemical processes involved
+ Multi cultural and/or broad global experience
