CSD is Cargill's Corporate Strategy and Development department responsible for strategy development, mergers & acquisitions, and new business development at the corporate and business unit level. CSD has a dual mission to deliver impactful recommendations regarding Cargill's toughest business challenges, and to develop future business leaders. The CSD career path leads from Analyst to Associate to Manager based on performance, after which you are expected to either place into a frontline leadership role in one of Cargill’s businesses or continue within CSD to become a Senior Manager and a Corporate Development Director. _Practice Areas_ CSD team members are specialized in one of two practice areas: Corporate Strategy or Corporate Development. Corporate Strategy professionals focus on strategy development at the corporate level and work directly with Enterprise Strategy Leads at the Group and Business levels of the organization. Corporate Development professionals focus on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures (“MADJV”) at every level of the organization. Each individual’s assignments and experiences will be based on Cargill’s business needs, as well as personal capabilities and development goals _CSD APAC office in Singapore is currently recruiting an experienced Corporate Development Associate from an investment bank, private equity or a corporate development practice of a multinational for the Corporate Development practice area._ _What we provide_

+ _Variety:_ You will work on corporate development projects (including acquisitions, divestitures, joint-ventures, investments) across Cargill's broad array of businesses in the Asia Pacific region and globally

+ _A global experience_ : You will think about how to manage the risks and leverage the opportunities presented by the biggest global issues facing the world today – from food security, food safety, and sustainability to global trade flows and new technologies and business models

+ _Exposure to Cargill’s senior leadership_ : as an Associate you will work directly and frequently alongside Cargill’s senior executives

+ _A strong general management foundation:_ _In CSD, you will have the opportunity to contribute to and lead high-performing project teams, hone advanced financial & corporate development knowledge and general management skills, and develop a network with colleagues from operations, finance, trading, and sales_ _70% Transaction Execution_ - _Execute all type of transactions (acquisitions, divestitures, JVs, mergers, minority investments) from early stage of the process (ideation) to completion and post-completion (integration, disentanglement etc.)_ - _Support best in class execution of M&A projects including but not limited to financial analysis, valuation, due-diligence, marketing, structuring, documentation and process management_ - _Coordinate with all stakeholders (internal and external) to drive efficient process, leveraging from known best practices_ - _Provide financial analysis, valuation, structuring, process expertise to the envisioned transaction_ - _Prepare acquisition proposals, recommending financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives_ _10% Talent Development_ - _Provide guidance and coaching to Analysts and other team members in problem solving and process management_ - _Participate and contribute to the CSD training activities and further develop quantitative and qualitative skills_ _20% Corporate Development Practice_ - _Drive best practice in knowledge management and contribute to other important initiatives_ - _Work with the Corporate Development extended leadership team to develop the Corporate Development practice_ - _Contribute to recruitment and other engagement initiatives in the CSD team_

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

+ Superior academic track record at a recognized university

+ 3 to 5 years of work experience in an investment bank, private equity firm, boutique advisory, Big 4 or a multi-national corporation (corporate development or business development function) with direct exposure to Asia or 1-2 years relevant experience post completion of an MBA

+ Strong valuation knowledge (particularly discounted cash flow) and strong understanding of financial and accounting principles

+ Prior experience in managing a transaction process and leading a transaction team, including playing an integral part during the due diligence process

+ Ability to lead financial modelling efforts, including providing guidance to junior team members and taking ownership of model inputs and outputs

+ Strong proficiency across Microsoft Office products with an ability to succinctly summarize information for consumption by senior stakeholders

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (fluency in a major Asian language is highly attractive)

+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization and work collaboratively in a team environment, including providing support and guidance to junior team members

+ "Can do" attitude and a willingness to learn from and contribute to a high-performance team

+ Willingness to travel regionally from time to time Preferred Qualifications:

+ MBA from a top globally recognized business school is preferred but not required

+ Full fluency (read/write/speak) in Chinese is preferred but not required
