Trading Assistant / Junior Trader

Position Purpose & Summary: Cargill Risk Management (CRM), a business unit of Cargill is a pioneer and leader in providing risk management solutions. At its core, our business is about working with customers to understand their commodity exposure and structure risk management (for over-the-counter products) to meet their needs. This role will be a core part of the entrepreneurial team building within the Cargill Risk Management business in APAC. CRM offers risk management solutions to customers so this position under trader’s supervision will manage the risk of those positions, have influence on product selection, and pricing. This role may also engage directly with customers to enhance the onboarding and sales process. This position will also be accountable for:

+ Primarily accountable for supporting the Senior CRM trader activities and deliver the product line PNL.

+ Daily Position Reporting with internal stakeholders.

+ Daily PNL Reporting with internal stakeholders.

+ Position Reconciliation.

+ PNL Reconciliation of OTC derivatives book.

+ Position management.

+ Provide assistance to sales teams.

+ Assist worldwide CRM traders / sales to execute derivative orders.

Principal Accountabilities:

50% - Trading & Risk management:

+ Supporting the trading desk in managingOTC cross-assetand overall risk management.

+ Provide assistance to hedge FX, Futures, OTC structures.

+ Follow-up for new underlying PAF and middle office.

+ Using Derivatives instruments to manage exotic price risk structures.

+ Under trader’s supervision building new volatility based positions.

+ Maintain a detail Supply & Demand analysis by commodity. 30% - Internal Customer Management:

+ Engage with the sales team to show portfolio risks and influence book composition.

+ Partner with global sales team to engage customers on price risk management solutions primarily by helping with market insights and product selection.

+ Make markets in the products we show to customers to maximise profitability.

+ Maximise profitability of deals transacted by the team through hedging decisions and execution. 20% - Execution:

+ Ensure that deals and hedges are accurate and entered in a timely manner.

+ Contract and execution management for internal deals.

+ Monitor daily cross asset execution orders.


Required Education & Experience:

+ Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, financial or commodity field.

+ Ability to understand and hedge option Greeks.

+ Ability to prioritise, multi-task, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.

+ Attention to detail and ability to do P/L attribution and fine-tune strategies accordingly.

+ Strong attention to detail.

+ Solid problem-solving ability.

+ Collaborative and team oriented.

+ More experience applicants will be considered for a Junior Trader position. Preferred Skills & Experience:

+ Advanced degree in a quantitative, financial or commodity field.

+ Prior option trading experience.

+ Structured Product pricing and hedging experience in commodities.

+ Programming Ability in R, MATLAB, C , C#, Java, and Python.

+ Shown initiative in challenging status quo and quickly adapting to change.

+ Interest in career progression and assuming more demanding assignments over time.

+ Fluency in Mandarin or Hindi is a plus as there will be frequent liaison with clients and stakeholders in China and India.
