As the Maintenance and Reliability Leader in Cargill’s Vancouver terminal you are responsible to effectively deploy, implement and align CASCNA’s Reliability Excellence Program and Practices successfully in order to sustain a reliable asset. In this role you are also responsible for the supervision, training, development and performance management of the Maintenance Department with both exempt and non-exempt employees.

Principal Accountabilities:

30% Manage the R&M budget directly and be directly responsible of for maintenance cost including: * Managing the day to day safe execution of our maintenance related job tasks with our Cargill employees and contractors * Oversee the effectiveness and efficiency of our work management process in terms of proactive and reactive work that focus on reduced plant/equipment downtime and increased uptime for operations * Ensuring that planning and scheduling are current to leverage the right work is being executed at the right time in an effort to achieve facility metrics and goals * Managing and monitoring repairs via SAP to track employee efficiency and cost 20% Manage the successful deployment, implementation and sustainment of CASCNA’s Reliability Excellence Program and Practices. This includes: * Creating a culture of asset reliability both individually and collectively as a team * Working as a team both onsite with the local leadership team and offsite with Regional Reliability Excellence COEs, peers and partners within the CASNA business * Leveraging the best practices and continuous improvements across all export terminals 20% Manage capital and R&M projects within the facility by: * Being directly responsible for the planning, budgeting, and safe execution of all maintenance related projects both capital and expense * Managing and working directly with vendor/suppliers, contractors, and engineering firms * Working directly with COEs and administrators with executing contract documents and updating our Capital Commitment System (Clarizen) accordingly 15% Be responsible for people management and performance management of mechanical and electrical maintenance department non-exempt employees and exempt maintenance supervisors 15% Manage safety and environmental compliance that is aligned with CASC NA’s operational and production excellence program elements


Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 7-10 years’ experience, in industrial maintenance supervision, engineering, or project management * Ability to independently develop complex technical plans based on analysis of complex datasets used to identify trends and improvement activities * Demonstrated strong decision-making skills * Ability to prioritize activities to meet plant expectations and strategic objectives concurrently * Ability to work through others with strong delegation skills and accountability for results * Ability to build employee engagement to improve plant results * Ability to coach employees effectively for their development * Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

* Four-year engineering degree in Chemical, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering * Ability to develop and execute capital projects * Demonstrated business acumen with functional knowledge of maintenance, accounting, procurement, materials management and logistics * Able to communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization * Complex troubleshooting skills * CMRP certification from Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals * Technical certifications in predictive maintenance technologies or precision maintenance activities * Experience with computerized maintenance management systems, SAP and asset * Practical knowledge of precision maintenance with the ability to develop understanding of plant processes and operational needs
