Responsible for the development, deployment and continuous improvement of environmental, safety and health management systems for the CFN as directed by the POM within Vietnam that will enable the business to achieve its goal of developing a Complete Safety Culture. Champion a proactive culture of accountability, stakeholder engagement and sustainability in the business’ Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) program. The Country EHS Manager will provide EHS leadership to CFN Vietnam management, our employees and the communities/customers we serve through education and pro-active initiatives to reduce risk associated with environment, health and safety, as well as providing their specific EHS discipline expertise globally. This position will be part of the CFN Operations team and will help to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements and initiatives for CFN’sbusiness. 40% Leadership: Develop, implement and champion proactive environmental, health & safety management programs in order to achieve and maintain Business Unit (BU) goal of developing a Complete Safety Culture. As North VN EHS Lead within a country of the business unit, drive awareness and accountability for environmental and safety performance and system through all levels of the organization. Assure compliance with internal and external environmental, health and safety requirements, manage risk, and leverage opportunities. Lead work on Sustainability efforts, which include developing collaborative relationships with regulators, customers, communities, and employees. Actively participate with local EHS team in goal setting, implementing initiatives, and ensuring BU compliance and teamwork with all internal Cargill policy and procedures. EHS Lead for Thailand and Vietnam Feed will serve as the primary EHS resource for their country, but are expected to assume the lead role for the EHS discipline expertise that they bring to the team (for example, Safety, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene and Health, Process & Risk Management and/or Energy, Sustainability & Natural Resources). 25% Continuous Improvement: Maintain awareness of developing environmental, health & safety issues generally, in our industry, in the communities in which we operate, and our workplace to anticipate leadership and improvement efforts necessary to achieve environmental, health & safety compliance and a Complete Safety Culture. Facilitate adoption of best practices through benchmarking internally and externally,. Plan, develop, track and conduct safety training sessions, inspections and audits. Coordinate the activities of local Safety Committee development, BBS (Behavioral Based Safety), supervisor training, peer-to-peer coaching and contractor safety management, environmental sustainability and energy management. Follow-up and assure completion of action items and gap closure. 15% Communication: Communicate effectively with VLT, location and region EHS team members in the development and implementation of EHS programs. Influence business leaders to promote systems, performance and achievement of goals. Champion engagement in safety. Facilitate the transfer of knowledge in safety leading practices across the BU, as well as providing their specific discipline expertise globally – as directed. Lead the efforts of creating a Complete Safety Culture. Communicate to all management team members in the CFN Vietnam the goals, standards and metrics used to measure progress, 10% People Development: Develop environmental, health & safety leadership and awareness skills at all levels and roles of the organization within the Country. Develop appropriate and effective health & safety training for hourly, supervisory, and management employees to enhance environmental, health & safety professionalism inCFN. Provide technical and regulatory compliance expertise and support. Develop strength in the country by mentoring, coaching and training EHS auditors, as well as providing their specific discipline expertise region 10% Reporting and Measuring: Produce regular summary reports and analysis on environmental, health & safety activities, performance measurement and results for the country and region as directed by the Production Operations Manager and Rigional EHS Manager.. Plan, prepare and present annual EHS plans, goals, objectives, reports and results for the country. Contribute to corporate environmental initiatives, work place health and safety goal setting and coordinating development and implementation of measures and communications. Prepare and organize environmental, health & safety files for regional, corporate and division audits. Periodically communicate and meet with Production Operations Manager and Regional EHS Manager, as determined.
Minimum Required Qualifications * Four (4) year accredited degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene and/or Safety Engineering * Ten (8-10) years of direct Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a manufacturing environment of multination companies. * Applied knowledge and working understanding of OSHA, regulatory compliance, experience with inspections, incident investigations, process safety, contractor safety, EHS training, hazard reviews and job safety analysis * Direct EHS experience must include leading and influencing organizations * Proficiency English (4 skills) * Strong leadership, influencing and collaborative skills * Strong oral and written communication skills * Influencing skills * Resilience, persistence, optimism (other key factors from Cargill leadership model) * Computer literacy: Power Point, Word, Excel, and internet searching * Knowledge of related EHS equipment * Knowledge of safety, industry hygiene and environmental testing methods * Organizing and planning * Negotiating * Analytical problem solving and decision making * Initiative training ability Preferred Qualifications * Environmental, Occupational Health & Hygiene and/or Safety recognized certifications (CIH, CSP, CHMM, REM, CPEA, QEP) * Experience in a leading a world-class environmental, health and safety organization * Safety, Process & Risk Management, Environment, Energy, Sustainability & Natural Resources, Industrial Hygiene & Health experience * International experience
