Job location(s): Wolverhampton, UK Cargill’s European protein business is a leading supplier and innovator of chicken products for retail, food service and food manufacturing customers in both European and global markets. The Continuous Improvement Site Lead is a key member of the Wolverhampton site leadership team who will work closely with the overall Site Lead, to define and deploy the CI strategy within the factory. This crucial role will provide an exciting opportunity to develop and lead the training on the use of tools to improve processes and assist in the creation of action plans, implementation and follow up to drive a ‘Lean Culture.’

Main Tasks:



+ To optimise manufacturing processes using Lean methodology by developing the structure and tools to; engage, build competence and empower colleagues to work in a Lean manner

+ The position holder will lead the developed of Lean manufacturing processes, standardised work, problem solving, value stream mapping and employee training and participation sessions

+ Manage the Continuous Improvement team in order to achieve departmental CI objectives and to develop talent to operate using lean tools, including but not limited to; PDCA, flow mapping, Kaizen, 5S

+ Establish a skill matrix

+ Define a medium to longer term CI strategy, utilising monitoring and reporting systems for data and ensure achievement of product, quality and cost objectives within time scales

Qualifications



Qualifications:



+ A Degree level qualification in a Science or Engineering discipline would be preferred

+ Established track record in sustained continuous improvement and change management

+ Formal certification in Lean Six Sigma is strongly preferred at Green or Black Belt

+ Proven experience coaching and facilitating CI tools and methods in complex manufacturing environments at both shop floor and senior management level

+ Experience gained in food manufacturing, chemicals, FMGC or other similar environments

+ Demonstrated experience in project management

+ Excellent leadership skills, able to communicate clear objectives, provide feedback, implement improvements for team and individuals performance

+ Demonstrated change management skills, adaptable to changing business needs, introducing new ways of thinking and behaviors and getting buy in to drive sustained growth and change

+ Comfortable to manage ambiguity and complexity

+ Pragmatic approach to problem solving and able to execute solutions in a timely manner
