Position Purpose & Summary This position will be responsible for coordination of procurement activities for one or more locations typically within a single business with some complex procurement requirements, including managing procurement transaction processes and inventory/procurement records, providing location procurement support and planning, managing supplier events and relationships, and implementing sourcing strategies. May supervise a small team (typically less than three) less senior procurement professionals and or support staff Principal Accountabilities Manage/execute procurement transaction processes 50% * Responsible for monitoring and ensuring requests are processed for procurement of materials/goods, services and/or supplies for local use from various plant/location staff or a procurement/inventory management system (e.g. Maximo or other ERP) for non discretionary, contracted spend, such as stock replenishment or planned spend * Uses some discretion to procure requests from existing supplier contracts within established, moderate dollar limits. * With approval, will work with Strategic Sourcing organization for procurement of materials/goods, services and/or supplies in excess of established limits. * Delegates more administrative duties to support staff as appropriate (e.g. processing procurement requests and preparing purchase orders, scheduling/expediting/confirming delivery, coordinating return of rejected items etc.). * Identifies and implements improvements for procurement transaction processes within the business Manage inventory/procurement records 25% * Provide analysis of procurement/inventory management system reports requiring interpretation, to follow materials/goods, services and/or supplies through the supply chain; keeps internal stakeholders (e.g. plant operations staff, finance, Strategic Sourcing organization etc.) informed of status. * Creates reports in order to facilitate/improve inventory management/planning processes. * Identifies medium term supply chain issues and works with Strategic Sourcing organization and/or BU Leadership to define and implement solutions. Provide procurement support & planning 15% * With some oversight, works with plant/location staff to gather and interpret information and applies a general understanding of plant operations to provide general forecasting of medium term supply needs and ensures purchasing plan is aligned. * Conducts research and analysis (e.g. internal/external data from traditional and non-traditional/non-structured data sources) requiring an advanced understanding of operations and business requirements (e.g. product development plans, marketing projections for new products, planned product line expansions, etc.) as well as sourcing environment (e.g. suppliers, cost drivers, international market dynamics, geopolitical risk, import/export laws, etc) for BU. * May act as subject matter expert on multi-functional, local project teams. Manage supplier events & relationships 10% * With some oversight, manage process to select suppliers for procurement of non-contracted materials/goods, services and/or supplies which are considered non-leveraged, local spend (as defined by Strategic Sourcing policies) within moderate dollar limits including -Gathering and performing complex analysis of internal spend data -Gathering specifications/requirements from internal stakeholders -Researching local supplier options -Collecting supplier bids and perform analysis of results (e.g. determining best value supplier from multiple supplier quotes) -Negotiating contract terms and conditions * Responsible for relationship management for more significant local suppliers; with oversight, may develop and leverage existing local supplier partnerships. * Contacts supplier and takes actions to research variances with supplier contract terms and conditions (systemic quality or service problems, etc.). * Works with applicable plant/location staff to research and resolve supplier issues; escalates more significant issues directly to Strategic Sourcing organization to find resolution. * Inform & implement sourcing strategies * With some oversight, coordinates the execution of category/sub category activities and the alignment and implementation of strategic sourcing strategies across the sourcing lifecycle for one or more locations typically within a single BU. * Establishes and maintains on-going tracking mechanisms for performance metrics, reporting on value captured at the local level


Education, Experience, Skills I Required Qualifications * Bachelors degree in logistics, finance, supply chain, procurement, Plant operations, engineering, finance, or comparable education background or equivalent work experience. * 3 years of relevant business experience including knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures. * Interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders * Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities. * Understanding of the operations, needs and requirements of key business and functions across multiple categories * Experience working with an ERP System * Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Access Preferred Qualifications * 1-2 years of experince in implementing procurement, trading or strategic sourcing related duties. * Project Management or Manufacturing experience experience * Knowledge of Process Improvement Tools and Processes (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma) Other relevant information to the position This position will get exposure to a variety of businesses within a region. Interacts closely with plant operations, other supply chain professionals (Transportation and Logistics, Strategic Sourcing, Business Supply Chain).
