Cargill's North America protein business produces fresh, frozen and cooked beef, turkey, pork, chicken and egg protein offerings, sauces, soups, case ready products, pet treats and by-products for our retail, food service and food ingredient customers. Cargill Protein focuses on product quality, employee safety, food safety, animal well being, environmental impact, improved sustainability and community engagement as it strives to nourish the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way. Cargill Protein has a diverse 28,000-member team and operates approximately 60 protein primary and further processing facilities, distribution centers, feed mills, hatcheries, and an innovation center in the U.S. and Canada, in addition to maintaining international sales offices. Canada is home to 10 of these facilities and includes over 5500 stakeholders. This role is a strategic sales position for the Retail Channel for Cargill Protein in Canada. It is responsible for the strategic development of the Regional Eastern Canadian customers and also supports Food Service business in Eastern Canada where required.
50% - Strategic Business Development – This is the ownership for Cargill Protein of the business performance for key regional retail customers in Eastern Canada. This would include Metro, Costco, Giant Tiger, Longos, as well as key regional in both Quebec and Ontario It involves full understanding of the customers business and how Cargill capabilities can service these customers in a sustainable strategic manner through product, service and programs. It involves extensive relationship development with the key decision makers at these customers, requiring a detailed understanding of these customers goals and objectives. Business performance will be based on scorecard metrics and will be required to be monitored regularly, with ongoing action plans created to enhance performance. Business plans will be required for strategic customers in the region. 30% - Internal Collaboration – Extensive collaboration with the Canadian sales team is required. Connectivity and alignment with the Eastern Regional Sales and Distribution leader, the National Trading team will be key to success, as they will be part of the account teams and have the same sales goals. Internal collaboration with peers on the sales leadership team is required as well for best practice sharing and strategy for our overall sales team in Canada. Collaboration will also be needed with various functions throughout the Cargill organization. This would include operations, marketing, pricing, business management, consumer insights, and finance. 10% - Customer support for Food Service and Protein Ingredients Customers - The strategic plan for customers in these channels will be created by the channel, but this role will support the execution of the plan for these customers where required. 10% - Business Planning, analysis, insights and ongoing key initiatives - Full understanding of POWER BI in relation to customer performance, analytics and tools. Use of Saleforce tool for all planning, meetings and customer opportunities.
* 10 years of retail experience (any combination of selling / and or working in retail) * Extensive knowledge of the Ontario and Quebec retail landscape * Bilingual (English and French) * Technical meat knowledge * Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft office. * Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
