Position Purpose & Summary The Process Safety Advisor (APAC subregion SIMPS) applies technical knowledge of process safety to deploy corporate standards for the management of hazardous processes. This position will be a member of the regional process safety team providing leadership in the development of the strategies for the deployment, implementation, and sustainment of the Corporate Process Safety Risk Management (PSRM) standards to ensure a consistent and effective operationalization within the APAC region. This corporate position will be responsible to build process safety capabilities within the region and work with the sub-regional EHS team and corresponding sites to provide the technical knowledge and assistance to ensure consistent implementation of Process Safety standards. Principal Accountabilities Process safety leadership - APAC70% * Assist the Process Safety Director- APAC to develop strategies for regional deployment of process safety control programs and the development of process safety expertise and capability * Build process safety capability within the EHS sub-regional team and corresponding sites * Provide technical, regulatory and strategic consultation, support, and training on the Corporate Process Safety Risk Management requirements and tools to support local sites as they integrate Process Safety Risk Management within their operations and build a strong Process Safety Risk Management culture * Develop and execute ongoing stakeholder and change management processes, communication, and education activities within the region * Technical support of the deployment of process safety portfolio or projects in region (e.g. Consequence Modelling, Dust characterization, Building Risk Assessment (BRA) etc.) * Using expert knowledge to deliver guidance and training solutions related to Process safety practices. * Localize the global corporate standards, practices, training and promotional materials to suit the regional needs. Sustaining Cargill Corporate Process safety Standards and data analysis20% * Assist the Process Safety Director- APAC to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the corporate process safety standards including all related programs, practices, processes, tools, training, and communication. * Monitor and analysis of leading process safety metrics for their region * Actively participate as a member of the global process safety leadership team evaluating and assessing the performance of the corporate process safety standards Sustaining and Continuous Improvement of Cargill Corporate Process safety Standards10% * Participate in work stream sub groups in the development and improvement of the corporate Process safety control programs, practices, tools, training and assessments
Education, Experience, Skills Minimum Required Qualifications * BS degree in Engineering or related field and a minimum of 8 years of experience working in Engineering, technical operations, project management and/or process safety management, consultation. * Minimum 3 years management/supervision experience. Proven ability to manage, lead, motivate and evaluate people. * Fundamental understanding of industry leading practices in process safety management * Knowledge of process safety regulations, standards, leading practices and RAGAGEPs * Demonstrated ability to lead and direct people/projects in cross-background team. * Demonstrated to be collaborative, organized and detail orientated. * Fluent one local language and English * Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office applications, and engineering/construction applications. * Ability to travel up to 50% of the time * Ability to understand and navigate effectively through networks and across organizational boundaries to gain support * Use knowledge to advance science or technical knowledge to influence and help sites implement leading practices and solutions * Ability to articulate with site leadership and front-line management * Demonstrated excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications * BS degree in Engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience working in Engineering, technical operations, project management and/or process safety management, consultation. * Certified Process Safety professional through an external professional organization (i.e. ICHEME, CCPS, etc.) * Fluent in a second local language * Experience working with Global teams Other relevant information to the position This position works with a global and regional team to provide technical support for the improvement of process safety. This individual will be developing communication, stakeholder management, change management skills in addition to developing expert knowledge of RAGAGEPs and industry leading practices for process safety. This position works externally with organization likes CCPS, IChemE, etc.
