**Position Purpose:**

The HR Support Specialist is responsible for providing support to manage employee status updates, monitor benefit activity and payroll for a variety of types of leaves of absence – for example, short term disability (STD), accident & sickness (A&S), paid family leave (PFL), military, and long term disability (LTD) for all NA employees. The specialist in this role will work closely with vendor partners that assist with leave administration for some types of leaves to ensure that employees on a leave of absence have the correct HR status and are paid accurately. Additionally, the HR Support Specialist will also provide Tier 1 Level support providing answers to standard queries, assisting with transactions and initiating service as needed. The specialist in this role will escalate cases unable to be resolved to tier two. This position will leverage internal and external resources to ensure projects or day-to-day leave of absence support is executed in a timely and high quality manner. The role has accountability for developing and maintaining both internal and external complex business relations as they relate to leave of absence compensation tracking for all groups within North America. Many applications and vendors will be used throughout a leave lifecycle. These are leveraged for accurate tracking of the employment status, benefits and payroll for the employee to ensure accuracy of the processes.

**Principal Accountabilities:**

80% Payroll Support: * Update and correct HR, benefits, timesheets and payroll records on a daily basis as required for initiated leaves of absence (including but not limited to Short Term Disability, Accident & Sickness, Paid Family Leave and Long Term Disability), changes in leave status, and changes in coverage; for example, a drop to 70% salary continuation. * Provide Employer Statement information to the 3rd party vendors where needed (to assist with initiation of a leave of absence request for employees with production benefits.) The employer statement includes information related to eligibility, employment, compensation, scheduled hours, work locations, etc. * Communicate, enforce and understand best practices/process improvements regarding compliance and make recommendations for improving leave of absence compensation procedures to ensure accurate payments during a leave of absence. * Provide recommendations for how to standardize the leave of absence compensation administration. * Conduct needs assessments and capture concerns of the customer to identify gaps, evaluates information and recommends solutions to enhance capabilities. 15% . Customer Service * Direct North America employees and managers to the appropriate vendor for all applicable leave of absence inquiries that are serviced by outsourced partners. * Answer basic inquiries that are not handled by tier 1 resources. * Review and analyze customer reported issues, determine root cause and steps needed to resolve. * Effectively execute problem resolution tracking using RemedyForce ticketing system. * Monitor open tickets ensuring external vendor support is operating within stated service level agreement. * Escalate unanswered questions and concerns to Sr Leave Administration Specialist that may include inquiries that require local and remote consultative support, process execution, research, resolution, and in-person services. * Track and follow issues through to resolution, including effective communications to all stakeholders. * Consistently deliver high-quality services to customers on schedule. * Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business group HR teams, internal HR teams, external vendor support personnel, internal/external IT. * Communicate complex information effectively to employees, managers, and customers. 5% Miscellaneous Duties as assigned




* 2-3 years of experience in similar roles * Studies related with HR, Pshycology, HR or related careers * Proven ability to think strategically and execute methodically * Demonstrated customer service and communication skills, both verbal and in writing * Demonstrated follow up skills in a fast-paced environment * Ability to apply critical thinking and identify issues for problem solving * Ability to plan and execute work with minimal supervision * Experience developing effective and positive relationships with complex internal and external customers. * Proficient knowledge of Microsoft desktop software including Word, Excel (Intermedio, formulas), and Skype. * Strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills. * Ability to provide innovative ideas and solutions to reduce cost, improve efficiency and increase customer satisfaction.
