Description

As the Seasonal Labourer, you will report to the Production Supervisor and be responsible for the focus on plant operation and risk management for both Crop Input and Grain Business. Engage with a team to operate the plant equipment on a daily basis. Follows operational policies, operator care principles and procedures to operate equipment safely and efficiently to minimize or prevent injuries, property loss, and environmental damage. Ensures plant/facility and yard are clean and safe for customers and employees. The incumbent will work with team to ensure quality customer service is provided in grain handling and executing on the delivery of crop input services. Tasks will include daily tool box meetings, inventory management, receive and ship grain and may perform minor mechanical maintenance. You will interact on a regular basis with grain and seed customers, supervisors, and other plant personnel.

Principal Accountabilities:



+ Receiving and Shipping of Product & Customer Service Delivery

+ Receiving and shipping of products- Grain, Fertilizer,

+ Shipping grain by truck or rail car, including opening of lids, moving rail cars, etc.

+ Assist with grain deliveries (tasks may include operating a grain probe, grading, running control computers, assisting truck drivers, etc.)

+ Ensure accurate information of scale weights and transactions are recorded daily

+ Deliveries and/ or application services.

+ Ship, receive and store chemical per AWSA standards

+ Utilzation of software to ship and receive inventory.

+ Operate all equipment associated with the elevator process including drags, conveyors, scales, rail unload, truck dump, payloader, forklift and cube van

+ Operate railcar puller to move rail cars, open and close rail car gates.

Qualifications



Required:



+ Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.

+ Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.

+ Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, and open/close valves.

+ Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

+ Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.

+ Ability to work in elevated areas.

+ High School diploma or equivalent.

+ Must be able to operate machinery.

+ Must be able to read/write English.

+ Ability to work overtime.

+ Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.

Preferred:



+ Able to perform physical job duties including shoveling, pounding with hammer, and climbing ladders.

+ Forklift certified.

+ Basic computer skills.

+ Prior experience in production related work. This Seasonal position is located in Sarnia, ON however please expect receiving calls from a 204 area code in case you are considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.
