Position Purpose & Summary CCC employs about 3500 people across the world. The organization operates globally 37 manufacturing sites varying from simple sourcing warehouses to complex manufacturing processing plants in complex environments with a variety of technologies and some with highly hazardous processes. In Europe CCC operates 11 chocolate plants accros Germany, Belgium, France, UK and the Netherlands. Those are food manufacturing loctions with low to medium complexity (Mouscron, Reinickendorf and Rouen have the highest comlexity), without highly hazardous processes. Environmentally the impact from the chocolate plants is limited and therefore not complex. All pants have a local EHS resource or teams. The purpose of this role is to support the plants with the deployment of programs, follow up of events, align with Cargill EHS Strategy. The role can be located in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany for proximity to the chocolate locations. Travel accross Europe for all plants is foreseen as part of this role. The role has a indirect reporting lines to the Operations Director Chocolate Europe. The location EHS lead have dotted reporting lines to this position. This position will report to the FIBI EHS director (CCC, CSST).

Principal Accountabilities


+ Assesses EHS risks and opportunities for the region, using broad and in-depth knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety issues (including current and medium-term future regulatory requirements) and potential impacts on the Region, stakeholder (customer, community, interest groups, employees) priorities, and Business strategy

+ Contributes to the deployment of the Cargill EHS strategy and tactics to manage risk and generate value across the Region. Leads the development of Regional EHS tactics to manage Environment, Health and Safety risk and generate business value.

+ Uses broad and in-depth knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety matters, Business objectives and Business stakeholders, to assure that strategy and tactics can achieve compliance with legal requirements, position the Business for compliance with anticipated regulation, address expectations of key stakeholders, and support innovation that can generate business value.

+ Leads efforts to achieve internal approval and support at the Regional leadership level for the EHS tactics in the region.

+ Leads efforts in the region to ensure deep understanding and achieve support of the approved EHS strategy, or relevant parts of the approved EHS strategy, from internal and external partners and stakeholders.

+ Internally, this may include communicating, educating and leading or contributing to collaboration with other functions.

+ Externally, this may include leading efforts to influence regulatory policy, educate, and negotiate key approvals or permits with regulating bodies, develop support among key stakeholders including community or activist groups, customers, unions, industry associations and the media community, and work with external consultants. _15% IMPLEMENT EHS STRATEGY_

+ Leads development of programs and processes for the region to execute Cargill EHS strategy in a manner appropriate to the technology, scope and maturity of the business. Leads execution of corporate EHS programs and processes.

+ Networks with internal and external organizations to identify best practices of others that can be applied effectively across the Region or in selective locations, consistent with and in support of the EHS strategy.

+ Collaborates with internal partners across the Region to execute elements of EHS strategy in processes, programs, and work of others, as appropriate to enable EHS and support partner goals (e.g. Performance Management Process, Project Delivery Process, Merger/ Acquisition/ Divestiture/ Joint Venture work, Process Safety Management, and Reliability Excellence Process Improvement). _25% MAINTAIN AND CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE EHS RESULTS_

+ Utilizes broad and in-depth knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety practices to identify meaningful business/ industry specific measures, to be tracked across the region.

+ Drives systems of performance metrics, accurately measured and reported in accordance with corporate and Business EHS standards. (Enablon and Succesfactors/NU)

+ Provides strategic oversight to Environment, Health and Safety audit, inspection and risk assessment processes in the region. Adopts auditing standards and expands as appropriate for the business.

+ Conducts audits, inspections and risk assessments at locations.

+ Reviews and analyzes audit results to confirm that the corporate, business and government standards on Environment, Health and Safety are met.

+ Identifies trends, isolates root causes and confirms that appropriate follow-up actions are being implemented across the region.

+ Monitors and anticipates changes in the external environment, including regulations, science, and stakeholder positioning. Assesses applicability in the region and revises tactics as appropriate. _15% SHAPE INTERNAL EHS CULTURE_

+ Builds effective working relationships with key leaders across the region. in order to obtain/sustain a strong Environment, Health and Safety culture.

+ Leads development of internal communications strategy for key and differentiated audiences that builds and maintains awareness of Environment, Health and Safety values, strategies, and performance; shares best practices and key learnings; develops talent; and recognizes high performance across the region.

+ Influences leaders across the region, to promote proactive workplace Environment, Health and Safety practices. Provides broad and in-depth technical, regulatory, behavioral and strategic knowledge and consultation that leaders require to build a strong EHS culture.

+ Collaborates with internal experts to share best practices, identify leading approaches on Environment, Health and Safety topics and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement.

+ Develops, directs and oversees implementation of recognition programs to acknowledge positive behavior and celebrate successes on topics of Environment, Health and Safety for the region. _10% MANAGE EHS BRAND_

+ Plays a role in external EHS professional and relevant industry organizations.

+ Shares best practices and represents the region on behalf of the organization.

+ Independently, or in collaboration with external stakeholders, sets new industry standards through the development of leading Environment, Health and Safety practices.

+ Leads engagement on EHS topics with external stakeholders in relevant industries. Guides Business Leaders on specific customer and community concerns related to EHS topics across the region.

+ Equips Business Leaders with the information and tools they need to accurately represent Cargill on Environment, Health and Safety topics.

+ Consults with internal sales and commercial teams as well as external organizations to stay informed of external EHS matters facing communities and customers across theregion. Provides leadership in the region to meet and exceed the expectations, values and priorities of community, customers, consumers and NGO’s. _20% PEOPLE, RESOURCE & BUDGET MANAGEMENT_

+ Leads efforts across the region to ensure that the EHS talent is in place to address immediate and medium-term needs of the business.

+ Develops a plan to address gaps in Business EHS talent and knowledge needs and prepares the region for the future.

+ Identifies development opportunities for current employees to strengthen Environment, Health and Safety expertise that match the medium-term needs of the organization.

+ Approaches the hiring/promotion process with a medium-range view, considering current and future needs of the business.

+ Provides strategic and tactical functional leadership and coaching across region.

+ Accountable for performance management, talent development, succession planning and engagement for direct reports.

+ Consults with Business Leadership to develop job relevant Environment, Health and Safety KRAs for their leadership teams in the region.


+ Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or Environmental Health and Safety, or

+ Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 7 years of experience in EHS or industrial setting with demonstrated participation in operation processes, or

+ Experience in managing EHS at a regional level.

+ Experience working with data, database applications, and reporting (Enablon, Access, etc.);

+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint;

+ Knowledge of and experience in working with Microsoft SharePoint or comparable programs;

+ Experience in providing technical support;

+ Experience in program development and implementation of new or changing systems;

+ Experience with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development and delivering training;

+ Experience with Process implementation of EHS Policies and Systems;

+ (EHS) auditor experience;

+ Fluent English: spoken and written and at least one other European language, French, Dutch, German

+ Excellent Risk Recognition skills

+ Excellent troubleshooting skills, problem-solving and analytical skills;

+ Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills;

+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
