Food
Cargill Foods, located in High River, Alberta, is a fully integrated beef processing facility, with slaughter, fabrication, rendering and hide operations all under one roof. The plant processes 4,000 head of cattle each day. Approximately sixty percent of product is exported and forty percent is sold domestic. Cargill Foods has sales offices in High River and Toronto, Ontario. Regional meat consultants are located across Canada.
Cargill Foods – Case Ready operates a multi-species case ready meat packaging facility in Toronto, Ontario. The plant occupies 167,000 sq feet and is customer-dedicated. The case ready facility was acquired 11 years ago and was the first case ready operation in North America for Cargill. Today, Toronto produces case ready beef, pork, ground beef, poultry and sausage products. Cargill Foods services retail stores throughout the province of Ontario.
Sun Valley Foods consists of a chicken processing plant in London, Ontario and a hatchery in Jarvis, Ontario. The plant processes 80,000 chickens each day. The hatchery on average produces 150,000 chicks per day, which are further processed at the London facility. The business is a major supplier of processed chicken to the Canadian food service industry.
Agriculture
Cargill AgHorizons™ is the grain origination and crop inputs division of the Cargill, operating out of approximately 45 grain origination and crop input facilities in western Canada and 14 in Ontario. Utilizing consulting products such as MarketSense™, Cargill AgHorizons representatives help producers understand their costs of production, cash flow and storage needs. Then, relying on Cargill's worldwide expertise and access to global grain markets, risk management techniques, and creative grain marketing alternatives, a customized grain production and marketing plan is created for the producer. The company also operates a transfer elevator in Baie-Comeau, Quebec, as well as a forwarding office in Montreal. Cargill Limited also supports Canadian agriculture through a wholesale crop inputs division called AgResource™. AgResource supplies crop production inputs and business management services to independent retailers throughout western Canada and on a more limited scale in Ontario.
Cargill Animal Nutrition operates in western Canada providing animal nutrition products and management consultation services to commercial livestock producers. The business operates out of Lethbridge, Alberta; Camrose, Alberta; Swift Current, Saskatchewan; Brandon, Manitoba and Winnipeg, Manitoba. From these locations products are shipped into western Ontario and export products and services are delivered to U.S. commercial livestock producers in Montana and North Dakota. In 2000, Cargill purchased Agribrands, creating a world-class animal nutrition company. The two businesses together operate a total of 178 plants in 26 countries. Services are provided electronically and through software programs like the leading edge Pork, Dairy and Beef MAX™ feed formulation and livestock modeling programs, exclusive to Cargill.
Prairie Malt Limited, located in Biggar, SK, is in the heart of Canada's vast prairie region. The business supplies top quality malt for beer production to a wide variety of domestic and international customers. Some of the best barley in the world is grown within a one hundred-kilometer radius of this malthouse, which has an annual capacity of 220,000 metric tons. In 1998, Cargill became a joint venture partner in Prairie Malt Limited.
Cargill Specialty Canola Oils (CSCO) is an industry leader in developing and marketing premium canola oils that meet the demands of end users. CSCO, which markets IMC varieties, is part of Cargill's worldwide food processing business. Sold under the Clear Valley® brand, high oleic canola oils made from IMC varieties are recognized by food processors for their nutritional value, improved stability and excellent flavor. Operating out of Calgary, Alberta; Winnipeg, Manitoba and Minneapolis, Minnesota, CSCO used its expertise in research and biotechnology to develop high performance canola varieties and hybrids.
Industrial
Cargill Sweeteners supplies a variety of nutritive sweeteners, from corn syrups to sucrose to customized blends, used in beverages, baked goods, candies, cereals, prepared foods and more. Canadian terminals are located in Toronto, Ontario; Abbotsford British Columbia; Calgary, Alberta and Montreal, Quebec. Cargill's high-quality corn, waxy maize, and tapioca starches are used to thicken, texturize and coat diverse products from baked goods to meats to marshmallows. Cargill Starch's expertise and broad ingredient knowledge works with customers to help solve formulation challenges and create better product solutions.
Cargill Oil Seed Processing facility processes 2,400 tons per day of canola out of Clavet, Saskatchewan. The facility is the largest soft-seed plant in North America. The processing facility produces canola oil and specialty canola oils as well as canola meal for the domestic North American and world markets. Canola oil is healthy vegetable oil used in salad oil, frying and processed food applications. Canola meal is a high protein feed product used by the livestock industry.
Saskferco Products Inc., located in Saskatchewan, is one of North America's largest producers of granular urea and anhydrous ammonia. The facility produces 2,850 tons per day of granular urea, plus 1,850 tons per day of anhydrous ammonia (NH3), for shipment to North American customers. Saskferco is a Cargill joint venture company.
Cargill Salt has sales offices in Montreal, Quebec, Pickering and Sussex, Ontario. Cargill salt works to make winter driving safety a reality by providing bulk de-icing salt when you need it most. In addition to bulk de-icers, Cargill Salt also makes enhanced and alternative de-icers that melt ice and snow, while reducing the potential for damage to roads and bridges. In addition Cargill Salt offers commercial, industrial and consumer salt products. With one call to Cargill Salt you can find all the products you are looking for from Agricultural, Food industry, Industrial, Water Conditioning Salt products. They also offer the Alberger Salt - the only high-purity, food-grade, natural flake - salt unique to Cargill Salt. Wilbur Chocolate, located in Burlington, Ontario, producing chocolate and confectionery products for commercial use. The business also functions as the sales office for Gerkens Cacoa in Canada.
Egg Solutions Inc. is a partnership between two of North America's leaders in the egg processing. This joint venture, located in Etobicoke, Ontario, combines the expertise and reputation of Global Egg Corporation, a leading further processed egg supplier, with the
innovation of U.S.-based Sunny Fresh Foods, a technologically advanced egg processor and winner of several national quality awards. The high-tech facility, serves food manufacturers and foodservice companies with Egg Solutions Extended Shelf Life (ESL) refrigerated egg products, fully cooked egg entrees including omelet’s and egg patties, diced eggs and pre-cooked scrambled eggs.

Cargill Power and Gas Marketing is our North American natural gas trading operations based in Calgary, Alberta. In addition to natural gas, CPGM also markets and trades electricity, weather derivatives, coal and other commodities.
Community
Cargill Cares committee believes in the importance of adding value to the communities in which we live and do business. As an "Imagine" company, Cargill Limited donates 1 % of pre-tax earnings towards charitable funding efforts in the community. Cargill is deeply connected to the people who live, work and raise families on our nation's farms. Since 1992, Cargill Inc. has been the leading corporate sponsor for Farm Safety 4 Just Kids (FS4JK), a nonprofit organization based in Iowa serving communities throughout the United States and Canada. FS4JK's main objectives are to reduce the high number of farm-related injuries and deaths involving children each year, increase public awareness and understanding of the hazards to youth on the farm and provide individuals, families and communities with appropriate skills and resources to make the farm safer. Each year, Cargill Limited awards scholarships to children of Cargill employees across Canada. Children of full-time Cargill employees who are entering the first year of their first degree are eligible to apply. A total of four scholarships are given out each year, with additional prizes given to second place winners.
Cargill Limited has partnered with the Breakfast for Learning program to help fund school breakfast programs in rural Manitoba schools and schools in Winnipeg's core area. The program ensures that students start their day off with a full stomach, allowing them to focus on learning.
Each year, employees at the company's head office in Winnipeg take part in a United Way fundraising drive. Cargill employees have historically given generously. The company is proud of its employee participation rate, currently at 92% (which means 92% of our head office workforce donate to United Way). Employees take part in a Day of Caring, where volunteers choose a United Way agency to assist. In the past, Cargill has helped at agency book and bake sales and added a fresh coat of paint to the walls of a pregnancy distress center. Cargill has demonstrated corporate leadership through a 2:1 matching program that is unique among Manitoba's Top 50 corporate donors. For every $1 raised by employees, the company donates $2.
The Cargill Indoor Games is Manitoba's premier track and field event and includes all levels of athletes: from elementary school relay teams to some of the country's top Olympic athletes. Since 1981, Cargill Limited has been the major sponsor of the event bringing in elite athletes from all over the world as well as top North American competitors. Held over a two-weekend format, the Cargill Indoor Games also includes elementary, high school and university level athletes. The event is held each year at the University of Manitoba's Max Bell Center on one of the fastest tracks in the country.
Lake Cargill is a 14-acre lake at Fort Whyte Center, an outdoor educational research center in Winnipeg. The lake is the site of environmental and climate change studies, aquatic monitoring, wilderness survival and youth day camps. It also creates a secluded setting for private sunset migration viewing, astronomy, birding and snowshoeing and offers an ideal environment for a growing Rainbow Trout fishery. This project was funded through Cargill Limited's community investment program, Cargill Cares, and its international water conservation program, Water Matters. The Fort Whyte Center is one of Canada's leading, privately operated environmental education facilities hosting over 100,000 visitors annually.
Cargill Limited’s Podium Program supports Olympic Bronze medallist Dominique Bosshart on her quest for Tae Kwon Do gold at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Cargill sponsors Dominique through the Canadian Sport Center’s Podium Program, an amateur sport program that partners amateur athletes up with corporations in order to help them realize their dreams.
