Textured plant protein
Driven by a growing consumer passion for balanced nutrition and sustainability, the market for plant-based meat alternatives is rapidly expanding. A whole new mainstream group of flexible vegetarians are highly demanding in relation to taste, texture, nutritiousness, footprint and getting offered value for money when seeking out plant-based solutions. Manufacturers therefore will benefit from plant protein ingredients that are plain in color and taste, easy to use and can deliver on texture, bite, chew and mouthfeel and succulence. One that can deliver the best possible eating & cooking experience for this growing group of consumers.
Textured protein offer
We are taking textured proteins to a new level, with the launch of our new solution: Cargill™ plant protein TEX PW80 M. Uniquely obtained from pea and wheat, enabling functionality and meat like texture to be better achieved.
TEX PW80 M successfully mimics the meaty-like texture by delivering the right bite and chew, juiciness and mouthfeel in plant-based meat alternatives such as plant-based burgers, -meatballs and other plant-based ground meat alternatives such as those found in ready meals. For sausages too! Can be used in formulations where soy-based ingredients are not the preferred choice. Pea and wheat are familiar ingredients to European consumers, having a positive effect on purchase intent. Pea is in the top 3 of most positively perceived proteins with regards to health. *
