Cargill issued the following statement in response to nutrition labeling changes proposed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration

February 28, 2014

Cargill applauds the Obama Administration for proposing updates to the Nutrition Facts label. A wide array of foods and beverages are available in the U.S. marketplace, and the Nutrition Facts panel is an important tool to help Americans make informed food choices. Consumers should expect government-endorsed label information to be factual and reflect the best available science. In the coming weeks and months, Cargill will work closely with FDA and other stakeholders in finalizing nutrition labeling regulations that help consumers achieve healthful, balanced diets.”
