Sharing knowledge and expertise

February 21, 2016

From the 1-3 December 2015, the Paris Nord Villepinte convention centre buzzed with the presence of more than 1,400 exhibitors from the global food and beverages industry. Over the three days thousands of ingredients buyers, decision makers and R&D professionals visited stands and attended conferences, to be informed about the latest in global ingredient trends and possibilities.

Sharing knowledge and expertise to support sustainable growth

Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate, together with three other Cargill business units, created an interactive stand at the heart of the exhibition space. At this ‘Innovation Hub’, Cargill representatives spoke with visitors about their business needs, shared knowledge and expertise and showed how Cargill can support innovation for sustainable growth.

Niklas Andersson, Marketing Director Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate, who attended the event commented: “The Food ingredients Europe show provides a great opportunity for customers to interact with our technical and applications experts. It also allows us to demonstrate how we can help customers innovate by combining our deep cocoa and chocolate understanding with the broad food ingredients knowledge.”

Showcasing a wide range of application prototypes

At Cargill’s Innovation Hub, visitors could view cocoa and chocolate products in multiple application prototypes. These included a non-sugar praline, a reduced-sugar filled biscuit, a cost-efficient ice cream and flavoured cocoa milk. The aim was to inspire companies looking to develop new and innovative applications by sharing our insights into key consumers trends and showcasing the breadth and versatility of our portfolio. A number of Cargill technical and application experts were also on hand. They held in-depth consultations, including giving support on how to innovate better, and faster. Sustainable financing initiative in the spotlight A proud show highlight for us was winning the FiE 2015 Sustainable Innovation Award for our ’Doni Doni’ initiative. Developed by Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate and external partners, the initiative enables cocoa cooperatives in Cote d’Ivoire to access financing for trucks. The judging panel explained: “environmental strategies alone are no longer exceptional but the norm. Actions that extend beyond the environmental and incorporate social, cultural and economic initiatives embody the true scope of sustainability.”
