Corporate Giving

What

Corporate giving is one important way Cargill works to enrich the 1,000 communities where we conduct our business. With 158,000 employees in 66 countries, Cargill people are working every day to nourish the lives of those around us.

The Cargill Citizenship Fund provides strategic grants to organizations serving communities where Cargill has a presence. The company provides direct grants for regional, national and global partnerships and provides matching funds for selected local projects supported by our businesses.

Who

Regional, national or global nonprofit or non-governmental organizations that provide programs and services to multiple Cargill communities may apply directly to the Cargill Citizenship Fund. Local, community organizations must request funding from their Cargill facility.

Cargill will provide corporate support to organizations, programs, and projects that fall within the Committee’s three focus areas:

• Nutrition and Health - We will support programs and projects that address long-term solutions to hunger, increase access to health education and/or basic health care in developing and emerging countries, and improve youth nutrition and wellness.

• Education - We will support innovative programs that improve academic achievement, develop logic and thinking skills, promote leadership development, and/or increase access to education for socio-economically disadvantaged children. Cargill also supports mutually beneficial partnerships with selected higher education institutions.

• Environment - We will support projects that protect and improve accessibility to water resources; promote biodiversity conservation in agricultural areas; and educate children about conservation and/or proper sanitation.

We will not fund:

• Organizations without 501(c)(3) status or the equivalent
• Organizations that do not serve communities where Cargill has a business presence
• Individuals or groups seeking support for research, planning, personal needs or travel
• Public service or political campaigns
• Lobbying, political or fraternal activities
• Benefit dinners, fundraising events or tickets to the same
• Fundraising campaigns, walk-a-thons, or promotions to eliminate or control specific diseases
• Athletic scholarships
• Advertising sponsorships
• Religious groups for religious purposes
• Publications, audio-visual productions or special broadcasts
• Endowment campaigns

Only under special circumstances will Cargill consider general operating or capital support. Organizations requesting capital or operating support should contact the Cargill Citizenship Fund before applying.
