Cargill Beef Argentina operates with 1,400 employees from our headquarters and plant in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and our second facility in Nelson, Santa Fe, Argentina. Our Buenos Aires plant has a slaughter capacity of 1,000 head per day while Nelson can slaughter 700 head per day. Both plants have deboning, packing, warehousing and cooking capacity. Our Buenos Aires plant has a small ground beef patty capability; approximately 60 percent of sales are exports. Frozen beef is shipped to Russia, Israel, Egypt and other destinations. Chilled products are sold primarily to Europe (Germany, Italy, Holland, United Kingdom and France) along with Brazil, Chile and Peru. Cooked frozen beef is shipped primarily to the United States and the European Union. |
