Better tasting pork

Some folks barbeque for fun. Others do it for a living. Something they all share are tough standards for the ribs, pork shoulders and boneless loins they use. And when barbequing isn’t just a weekend event but a way of life, the pork you start with matters a great deal. No matter what your secret recipe may be.

While barbeque experts wouldn’t offer up their secrets to us for cooking it, they did share their desire for the perfect pork. Our customers, chefs and grocers, also told us they wanted to provide a better eating experience for their consumers. So our food specialists went to work on developing cuts of pork with just the right attributes for better flavor, tenderness and juiciness.

Using special feeds and selection techniques, we developed pork that matched the requirement. Reviews from barbeque enthusiasts are in, and they like the new pork. But they’re still not sharing their cooking secrets. Working with suppliers and producers to provide a better product to meet consumer demand is just one way that Cargill works with customers.
