The Cargill Meat Solutions Technical Center, located in Wichita, Kansas, United States, employs nearly 70 scientists and support staff trained in meat science, food science, microbiology and regulatory affairs. They provide broad technical expertise to beef, pork and turkey customers.

The center includes a state-of-the-art, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)-inspected pilot plant, culinary design center, fully equipped test kitchen, shelf-life and pathogen-analysis laboratories and a specification and labeling department. 

The center also has facilities for sensory and textural analysis and regulatory assistance and nutrition profiling. A tenderness laboratory that uses a USDA-developed method for measuring meat tenderness is one of the center’s unique features.
